Tested both my Viper and VK and both staters read 00.5 on all 3 terminals on 200 OHM setting. And no coils are shorted. Once I get my new battery in will see if that changes anything.
Awesome thank you I will try this test on it. I compared my numbers with my 2017 vK professional and they were lower than the VK. But it is charging my battery to 14v so that part of the stater is good. I'm replacing the battery as it's coming up weak on the tester. If my stater passes this test...
So I installed a new 02 sensor for my AFR gauge and still doing the same thing. DTJ mentioned a video on here on how to test my stater. DTJ I'm looking for that video, if you can find it in your history send it my way please and thank you.
Hey Joe I have a 2016 Viper with the mpi turbo and looking at changing my stock gem settings. Thinking of trying what you have here and just wondering what benefits did you get from changing your red/blue to 5?
Ya they seemed to really believe it was a power issue. I will try a new 02 sensor and go from there. Thank you for all the tips! If I figure it out I will post what I found.
I did more testing today, started the engine and unplugged the gauge and plugged it back in with the engine still running and didn't change anything. I also tried powering the gauge directly to the battery (aem told me to try that) and that didn't change anything. Took the sensor out of the...
When I turn the key on it shows 14 then drops slowly to around 12 then it goes all the way to 17.9 (which is max on gauge) then ---. And the engine is not running yet. I start the engine and it still reads

Ya it's idling fine. My engagement, midrange, and under boost is reading what mpi says it should. Strange that my idle is the only reading that's messed up.
It did read numbers on the gauge before. It didn't always read --- on my gauge. It idles fine, I cleaned the end of my sensor in the exhaust but still reading ---
I have a 2016 SR VIPER turbo RTX with an AEM AFR gauge and it's reading --- on idle. I lowered my gem controller to #1 on idle from #4 and gauge still reads --- on idle. Anyone have any ideas on why I'm getting this reading?
My 2016 rtx is doing this now.... Replaced the sending unit but still all over the map and the gauge disappeared right off the cluster. Had you found what the issue was on yours?
I'm having issues with my fuel gauge. I replaced the sending unit but it seems to still be acting up.. Did you have to reset anything when you replaced your sending unit?
