Last year I had issues with my fuel gauge readings, sled didn't have many km on it, I filled it up and was reading full drive down the trail 5 km and it's reading half tank. So I shut the sled off and then turned it back on and then it was reading full, drive another 5 km and then it was reading just a little above empty, and it stayed like that for the rest of the season since I wasn't going to drive it all the way to the dealer in prime riding time. So they fix it can't remember what they did. Take the sled out for the first run yesterday and about 2 km into ride fuel gauge is reading half full and is just staying there. Does anyone know what's going on?

Well I'm taking the viper into the dealership again for the fuel gauge issue. I will report back whenever it gets fixed just incase someone else runs into this issue. Couldn't find any info on anyone else with this issue. Hopefully they don't touch the ecu at all since it has the evo flash.

You are not alone......Anxious to hear your update. I have the same problem with a 14 XTX and a friend also has the same problem with a 15 XTX. You can fill er up, will show empty, then the whole fuel bar starts flashing and then eventually, on mine anyway, the whole fuel gauge can't be seen now....all started for me on a late night run down a trail when the low fuel light came on yet I knew I had at least a half tank of fuel.....guys wondered why I have a Mountain Addiction tank on my tunnel....now they know!
I heard it may just need a relay replacement?

Mine fuel gauge is all over the place too on my '14 LTX SE. I'll fill her completely up and go and start it for my trip. Yellow Fuel light comes on for quite a few miles, then it'll read 1/4 tank, then sometimes 1/2 tank, and eventually after about 20+ miles it'll read full. I don't want to take it in during riding season, so I'll probably wait until season is over and have dealer look at it.

My Viper gage is great. The one on my Rush is useless.

It's the sending unit needs to be replaced......my gauge (14 XTX) would read whatever the Hell it felt like........I drove by trip odometer and didn't trust it......when I had sled in for work they replaced sending unit and it's fine now.........

That certainly sounds exactly like mine is behaving!

On my 2016 LTX,the low fuel light starts blinking with about 1 gallon left. I can live with that.

Had the same problem turned out the sender fell off its mount and was hanging by the wires. snapped it back on and used a zip tie so it would not happen again. no problem

Similar experience to ViperBill, except the wires broke off the sender unit also...when I removed the unit all I had was the mountng plate (top piece); the float and the sending unit and the wires were somewhere in the fuel tank...took about an hour to fish it out. But, re soldered the wires, put a couple zip ties on the sending unit and now it works...great!. Nothing like getting 1 year out of a fuel sending unit...pos.

I'm having issues with my fuel gauge. I replaced the sending unit but it seems to still be acting up.. Did you have to reset anything when you replaced your sending unit? It's the sending unit needs to be replaced......my gauge (14 XTX) would read whatever the Hell it felt like........I drove by trip odometer and didn't trust it......when I had sled in for work they replaced sending unit and it's fine now.........

My 7000 El Tigre has never had the issues you talk about, mine is a little different. After filling up I can literally ride for 2 hrs. and the gauge still shows full, then once it moves it jumps to 1/2.
After that it moves in small increments like it should.
