well update on that yamaha wants me to send it to a dealer to have them look at it.. to see if it was a defective part..and after that we shall see what happens..to bad i have to pay the shipping bill $300 oh well

no never seen a steel sheet covering that .. i was wondering why would they jus use aluminum to cover that part especially when a gas tank is right above it... this doesnt make sense to me..you have pics of yours

yeah well i live in alaska and we live about 580 miles from tghe nearest dealer or insurance agent.. plus the fire department told me i better move it off the road lol. but once the fire marshal says the cause was itll be good enough.. ill call the yamaha rep for alaska tomorrow and see what...

totally stock jus put fox floats on it

my sons phazer caught fire today while he was riding it with his buddy... very lucky his buddy saw the flames comming from under the gas tank.. very lucky it diddnt blow up on them..im very unhappy with yamaha right now looks like the fire started from the header melted the protective sheild...
