I am fighting with my clutching too and have 75 grams on 8fa weights and just started trying the shockwave last weekend at 1 1/2 turns out. In the 4' of fresh I was only pulling 9000 rpm. Seems I am running too much weight according to MPI. I am clutching for 10k feet.

Thanks....thats what I thought but wanted to be sure. The question on the buttons came up because my dealer did not have the Apex part number but had a different part number. The ones I got were about $3 and the ones listed for the Apex were about $10...Just wondering if there is more to it than...

Is there a difference between a secondary clutch from say 2001 Mountain max or Viper and a 2006 Apex? Also, what is the differnce between the buttons on the secondary between models. There is a different part number. Thanks.

I have seen guys drill a bunch of dimples in them with the theory that they catch more snow/water for lube and run cooler. not sure how effective it really is though.

If you are asking about MPI....It took shipping time and they tested and reprogrammed same day and then shipping time back. They did not charge me for updating, just shipping to and from them. I ended up sending mine box in twice because it did not work with the reprogram. I got a new box...

Ok...here is a rookie question. First oil change for me on SC Apex, do I just drain the engine and the tank drains through the engine or do I need to drain the tank separately? I didn't see a drain on the tank so I was not sure if you had to disconnect hoses or what. I did get down to the filter...

Thanks Hammer...I was just searching the posiblities. I sent the controller to MPI because it appears it was installed in January 06 and there is no indication that it was ever updated with the new versions. Once I get it back I will work at getting the settings right.
