IMO, like Bob and others day, no matter how much you're dialed in on test day, it may not be right another test day. That's why pro's show up early, test, test, test. They have bushel baskets full of gears, helixes, weights, belts, etc. No matter what we do, if we're the fastest today (or...

    turbo whine

IMO, rare issue for sure. Overall, the IHI turbo had been very reliable. From the sleds I've worked on, can only hear faint turbo noise on shut down. Have to really know what to listen for. A "trail" tune by itself would not cause a noise like that unless the turbo had a problem to start...

    Oil tank leak

Very common to find that the holes where 2 screws that hold that steel elbow into bottom of oil tank (suction side hose to oil pump) are too shallow for screws. The screws bottom before they pull that elbow up tight into bottom of oil tank. Doesn't compress oring so it leaks. Either shorten...

    Oil tank leak

Bottom hose is suction side to oil pump. Return is up higher far right side. Common to find the holes for the two screws that attach steel 90 deg elbow fitting (w oring) too shallow for length of screws used. Either shorten screws (about 1/8") or add a small washer under head. If screws can't...

    Adding inline fuel filter

Yes. Stainless steel element cleans nicely with brake cleaner. Yes, I can see discoloration in rinsed/blown off brake clean so there is some foreign material filtered out by element, very fine particle size. Strainer is about 40-45 micron. Filter is 10 micron. My fuel injector cleaning...

    Quiet Collar

Problem I have is he claims his kit comes with "ceramic" grease. There is NO ceramic that will work in grease, or is the base of any grease. Ceramic is harder than ANY steel in this application. So, if he is truthful, and his kit comes with "magic" ceramic grease, that grease will wear, gall...

    The Clutch Rabbit Hole

Yes, cover hits spider towers before sheaves contact. Imagine the force of impact there if/when belt blows and clutch slams together. Agree, why the h#&& can't Cat figure out basic physics?!!!

    Ski scratchers for catalyst.

This is an early pic. To keep scratcher end from hitting rail, I just strategically installed rectangular piece of UHMW onto rail. Done. No damage done at all to rail or surrounding. I can see where scratcher carbide end has hit UHMW.
