if you're ordering Yamaha parts you can order directly from Yamaha and have them shipped to you. Most of the time the parts are the same price whether it's thru the Yamaha website or a dealer. As for shipping options that i'm not sure of. Or you can call Knapp like suggested above. I've dealt...
just thinking out loud but wondering if there is enough material in the chain case to just use a self tapping auto drain plug instead of the bong or a drain plug from any other Yamaha sled and just tap the hole
i installed the star kit last fall along with their rear shock rebuild. it does take the small junk better but i still have the 3 to 4" sag. After the install it only had a 1" sag after sitting on it but now it's gotten back to what it was before. i'm going to have to call Star and find out...
He's going from a viper to a SW so I'm sure he's very familiar with the sled, suspension and the weight.
I'm sure it won't be that much of a difference. Basically the same sled with a different motor and clutches.
that's not high mileage, that's just getting broke in. LOL
unless the exhaust gaskets/donuts wore out and we're not fixed right away the header should be good. clutches probably only need a good cleaning , i bet that's all it needs. the secondary might need new bushings thou.
this is just my 2 cents but i'm sure there are others with good suggestions that will chime in. I personally do not have this suspension at home ,yet, but this is how i've always adjusted my sleds in the past.
my suggestion would be to make note of where the preload is now then lift the front...
Totally agree Sasquatch. The folks that say that EPS is not necessary are the same ones that have never tried it for any extended periods of time over varying conditions. If they had they would think differently. Some people just don't get it, it just doesn't make it turn easier it isolates the...
you must be a lot more sensitive to it then most Apex owners because i feel nothing like that. I bet with a clutch kit that would not even be that noticeable. i know the engine braking is less on the 2011 and newer apex but it's still there
???? hangs up or lags?? On the 2011 Apex?? What?? there is absolutely no engine lag or hang up when letting off the throttle, not sure what you are referring too. are you sure you weren't feeling the back shifting or the engine breaking?
Love my 2011 Apex. It's a lot more sled then a Nytro and I think you would enjoy it a lot more. The midrange torque and the exhaust sound is additive ;)!
anyone ever put them on backwards, meaning the cut end at the front if the back wears too much and has no inserts? My slides don't wear much for about a foot or so at the front. I have never run these and it wouldn't be hard to try, just need to drill a hole for the set screw.
