The protectors have been used by the fastest sidewinders and Thundercat sleds since 2012.. never an issue with cooling.. and standard recommended studs equal slow sidewinders that get beat by lesser sleds..
anyone who knows what they’re doing will Have a good pattern and big traction if they...
I highly recommend stm rear propertie protector instead that install with t bolts and nuts.. but neither oem or them protect for aggressive studs or protect the forward crossover hose..stm front protection does this
I can say this ...after being gone off the 998t for a few years...been riding lighter doo's...I rode a friends RIOT with PS and was blown away...
I have now purchased a 23' Srx (thanks Mike at Port!)
for those who want wheels on and off easy...and simple...check out EZ wheels...they are the perfect compromise for wheels and not having to have them mounted on the machine
what Ive learned since the earlier posts....Mohawks need a mild carbide or round bar and less ski pressure....also....one "hack" I got from kevin at port yamaha and tom aka mr.sled is with an aggressive ski like the c&a or mohawk...a slim jim dooly works wonders...we tested this thory on two...
seems like a regular maintenance of the outlet as shown on right pic above, hose and valve is a must...a heat gun before riding might be a good idea...
for those that think who cares if I roll over and lose some oil...you can easily remove piston and spring from valve and make it straight...
yes sir...I would not reef...it was a heat first and just a gentle additional hand tightening that did it for me...as you basically said...magnesium is soft...so beware..
on my 17' I found there was some seepage at the lower elbow and maybe on portions of the seal...I used heat first and gently tightened fasteners and it went away...
Mike would you say there *might be this benefit with the OEM clutch and setup....Ive tried some cat secondary springs (fewer coils spread apart) with more side force and thought it seemed all worked better?
