Exactly what i was thinking Dan!...lol was looking for that pic you had on the 1200 working on the wifes sled last month..
Im thinking i can make use of the slots on my new rotor.
Was also wondering if the hole in the tunnel could be opened up one day if they decided to make the shaft a press...
Ah yes good call. Theres the reason why not to bond the rotor to the bearing and allow it to float on the spline.
and yes, correct. Ordered from Hurricane which has in stock and was excellent to deal with.
so, as long as the inner race doesn't slip the shaft and the rotor were good. The o-ring idea is a good one if it helped to tighten it up. Gotta wonder what retaining compound between the inner race and the rotor would do.
Looks good. Need to pick up some green goo, trace out dimensions for a future puller, and should be all set..
Hoping to find a smaller 6ml bottle of instead of a 50ml 60dollar bottle of the stuff.
DAN,, can you mail me 5ml out of your big jug ... haaaa
Ive been very happy overall with this 998 with exception to a failed turbo at only 5000miles which was covered under warrentee even after it expired. After this many years there is no excuse for this bearing to still be an issue. Leaving it up to the consumer to tear apart and catch before...
I have a new seal and bearing coming for the chaincase while I have it all apart. Any tricks on removing that lower bearing. I have a slide hammer i use for smaller bearings but nothing for that size.
Went from 2450 to 2138 this year season.
Also went from PT mod muff to Max16sm.
works good but i think id like to try 21/41 next year. Im a bigger guy and carry fuel half the time so i think this ratio wpuld be more suited .
I thi6jk this gearing also needs a different chain than 2450 and...
My 12 failed and required a tow. 1 bearing failed early, not sure why and without 4wheel kit it track was loose and undriveable.
Since then, run outer wheels to help get me home incase it failed again. It gets messy when a bearing fails on a trihub assembly as compared to a single wheel.
As...
My choice to try the bdx shaft was not based on weight but on tolerances compared to oem. Basically same price so its worth a try. Havent recieved it yet
