is that 113mph on speedo or gpsSo top speed with the 24/50 is around 113? I can run that now, stock, with my 21/41 gearing. I would imagine when tuned, they run out of gear super fast!

Wow. I always knew the Japan Yamaha's read really high. I though these machines were more accurate than that!

So I know I started this thread asking for feedback regarding 24/50 vs. 21/41 gearing for stock boost, but now want to get feedback whether boosting with 24/50 gears. I ended up ordering some 24/50 gears and plan to put those in. With additional boost, I've heard that you will run out of gear real fast in a wide open area. For my area, it's only on the lakes as most trails are tight twisty's in Northern Wisconsin. Anybody running 24/50 with additional boost for trails? Thoughts on how much difference from corner to corner or overall feel? I should mention I am running the Ice Storm 150 and love the track and don't plan on studding. Thanks guys.

Spin, spin spin low gears without hooking up, especially on hardback w/o studs that gear pulls though I felt like I was in 1st gear for a long time like not shifting into second in my truck, 21/41 worked better for me, shift sooner this is just me,

IMO w no studs and adding more boost, all the more reason to gear up more. IMO, 24/50 is even too low for stock sleds. My Cat came w 24/50. When I geared it up to 21/38, it transformed the sled completely. It felt like a totally different sled and much faster even corner to corner. I marked my clutches and found out how easily it was shifted all the way up and out of gear.

One thing that is not talked about much on here is lug height and gearing.
My sled in stock form with 21-41 gears would only run 109mph on the trail with the backcountry 1.75 track.
I would bet the taller lug makes the speedo closer to GPS speeds compared to a 1.25 track.
Tuned has more top end.

Went from 2450 to 2138 this year season.
Also went from PT mod muff to Max16sm.
works good but i think id like to try 21/41 next year. Im a bigger guy and carry fuel half the time so i think this ratio wpuld be more suited .
I thi6jk this gearing also needs a different chain than 2450 and 2141 correct ?
