Call Mark at MCX USA. He is the distributor for North America. His phone # is (406) 490-9182. I doubt he has any inventory, but can have MCX in Sweden build any of the kits for you. They don't even stock the Sidewinder kits, they are all built to order.
We run 10T on our big RX turbo. Agree with Allen's comments re: rolling resistance. One thing to consider is if an 11T driver would stick out below the front bulkhead: if you looked under the sled from front towards the track, would an 11T driver be visible? If it is, then the drive axle would...
There are 8 magnets on the end of the driveshaft that the pickup sees for determining speed. On a stock winder with 2.86 pitch 9T that is an effective wheel size of 25.74" (2.86 x 9 = 25.74). An 8T driver with 3.0 pitch is 24", which is about 7% smaller circumference, so it will read higher...
Sourced from a local (very large) bearing supply center. I've had a few people send me PM's about this particular bearing saying the same as you (that they can't find it). I'll try to get more info for you guys. I took a photo of the box and just checked it again; that's definitely the number...
Having been married to a litigation attorney for close to 20 years, I feel pretty safe in saying that you'll be sledding in July before Yamaha engages with you to discuss a potential shortcoming of their product; especially one with the potential to cause injury.
Third variable: the cut of the splines on the crankshaft end. I'd need to measure these on a winder and 1049 crank to confirm what, if any, difference there might be.
There's only 2 variables here as I see it. The first is the spline cut on the 1049 stub vs. the stock winder. I tried to measure this with my calipers, but they're not the right tool for the job. Thinking about it now, I could perhaps try using (stacked) feeler gauges to determine what, if any...
I've posted this information in another thread, but haven't updated my results so here goes:
My Winder clutch was hard on rollers. Running DTAY-1's on (close to) stock gearing I could take out a set in a single day if I did enough long, hard pulls. As many others have, I switched over to an...
The problem with pulling on the front end of a Ski-Doo is that the bumper is only attached to the plastic belly pan. I'd be hooking on behind the spindles if I were you.
I would expect that sled to be an absolute riot on the trails we ride. Dan, you should buy one and trailer a few miles to where I am. I'll let you try my Sidewinder!
