I've used both open and closed loops and they occasionally came out. The ones I have now seem to work real good. I imagine they'll come off during off trial riding.
Maybe someone already suggested this but if I need scratchers down, I usually find that leaving one down is more than enough. I'll just alternate them during the day.
And as far as a cable mount, this is what I bought. I guess I got them from Duraflex as their name is on them. I don't...
I'm on FB promoting this site to members of the RX forum and the Yamaha 4-stroke forum. I am in constant awe of the amount of BS advise that is given over there. I admit I know a fraction of most do here, but it's a sheetload more than most people do over there. I know there's a couple people...
I'm a gauge freak and want to add a digital oil pressure gauge. I have a 2005 Vector ER.
Question is where do I pull the pressure reading from? I assume it the same "port" that has the stock oil pressure "port". But where is that on my sled?
TIA for the help! :sled2:
Personally......I would remove the tank and get the float out. I don't know if the float could cut off oil flow somehow, but why chance it? If the Yami p/n is different, then the float is likely different. Get a used replacement from barnofparts.com
Thanks for all the help!! I'm wondering why I'm not getting email notifications for all these replies though! Will check my setting.
The "hit it with a hammer" trick worked. 2 or 3 hits on each and they popped out. I was nervous hitting it so hard but it worked! On to the next project...
I was at my local Yami dealer today and the wrench said to hit it with a hammer. Nothing will break....he assured me. There's a first time for everything and it usually happens to me.:drink:
After 20K+ miles, there's slop in both joints, especially the one in the center of the sled. I'm working on tightening up the steering and this is just one place I'm working on.
I'm posting here because it'll get more looks plus I think the question could pertain to other models. But please move it to the RS forum if required.
Sled = 2005 Vector ER
The attached pictures show what I call the main link between the steering arm that goes down the RS of the sled and the...
I get anywhere from 14-17 on my 05 Vector with 20K miles and no motor work. I had a 14 Vector and never got about 17. I've always questioned the claims of people getting 20mpg on any 3 cyl Vector motor. I guess there could be a few out there that are perfectly tuned from the factory. :dunno:
Yup it's me! I got rid of the POS Polaris I had a little over a year after I bought it. Nothing but problems and the motor, for some reason, was a complete slug. No dealer could figure it out, nor did I think they even cared. So AB is my only sled now and I'm fine with that. Just put a new...
I have little doubt that the "fixed" carb is the one closest to the fuel pump. Well, honestly I'm not sure of anything anymore. Call it #1 or #3, whatever you want.
Personally I would use a name brand 50-50 pre-mix. Orange or green? I have no preference. I still say to add Water Wetter, that is, if it's still available.
This problem has come up ini recent past. I believe the issue is that one of the float bowls is running out of fuel. If this truly is the cause, then cleaning the carbs if the fix.
