FYI, Tommcat performance posted yesterday that he has had (3) 2024 Cat 998T’s come through the shop that had loose primary clutch bolts. One more thing to check.
Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. TD and Hurricane have these sleds well sorted out by now. Buy your go fast parts from one of them so we don’t have to read a JT Metal thread about getting beat by an 850 Turbo.
Didn’t this particular member post a video of said race on Youtube?
My Dad has a Sidewinder XTX with the 1.6 Cobra with I-Grips. I will be running a 900R this season with a 146” 1.6 Ice Cobra. Both sleds have uncoupled skids. Both sleds bone stock. If we get a chance to run them, I will be sure...
I will likely be on a 900R this season, after 5 seasons on a tuned Winder. I will be sure to offer my opinions good or bad. If I don’t love it, I will sell it and pick up an EPS cat or SW.
Mine is tuned with TD Max Spool 16. If I bought a new Winder, I would try the Hurricane SS tunes this time around. I’m not unhappy with my TD tunes. I just wouldn’t want to build the same sled twice. I’m already bored with the one I have.
I still have a hard time believing the ST weights. I have a SW and 900T sitting side by side in the garage. The 900 feels noticeably lighter to move and ride.
I agree. There may be a new sheriff in town.
I still think the 998 will be the fastest up top when tuned. I believe the G5/RMX combo requires a lot of HP to pull big top speed numbers. We will know a lot more in a few months.
This shouldn’t be hard to achieve. Exploding from the line with the 137 skid will require some traction products for sure. 125mph on the speedo with stock gearing is pretty tapped out. 22T top gear will get you more if you desire it.
It will be interesting to see what they come up with. There may never be another engine that is so inexpensive for adding power.
I am taking a step down in power this season. If I miss my 998(I know I will. The question is how much?) it may be one season and I will be back.
Last season we went on a ride with some friends and the guy who lead most of the day was riding a new 850 Lynx. We couldn’t wait to get in front of him. I could tell every time he pinned it just by the smell.
I am excited for Cat. My closest dealer is a Cat dealer and they are excellent. I am hoping to get a test ride on a Catalyst at some point in the near future. I hope they find a way to shoehorn a turbo 4 stroke in.
I’m not sure my wife would appreciate following me around all day if I’m on a 2...
I am not sure what happened with that last post.
I would be happy with the current 998 offering with some slight tweaks to the seating position and this new gauge added.
I am interested to see where cat goes with the Catayst and 4 stroke offerings in the future. Hopefully they can continue to...
