I expect Doo to drop a more powerful 4 stroke for 2025 or 2026. This 999 with a CVT will likely fit the bill. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 999 N/A version as well, just to simply manufacturing.
With Yamaha exiting, there is likely 4-5% more market share up for grabs.
I am only basing this on what I see on the trails, but a LARGE volume of Cat’s sales since 2017 have been the 998T sleds. They would be foolish to abandon that market.
Japanese manufacturers also don’t update product as often as other brands. They do little to tempt customers to trade for the latest and greatest.
I think the younger generations love to have the latest and greatest. Reliability is less important to them. It is not like it used to be when you...
You hit the nail on the head. My 2005 Vector was the worst handling sled I’ve ever ridden with the factory settings. That sled taught me how to set up a snowmobile. My Apex was better, but it still left a bit to be desired out of the box. The 2008 demo FX Nytro I rode was awful.
My buddy bought...
I agree. The Apex and the SW were prime examples of that. I made many upgrades to the rest of the sled because I loved the engines.
My 2007 Apex RTX was still my all time favorite, after I changed it to my liking.
I couldn’t agree more Rich. IMO, Japanese companies in general take a more conservative approach which often results in innovation taking a back seat to reliability and longer product cycles.
It can be seen in other product lines as well. Japanese dual sports vs KTM or Husky. Japanese sxs and...
I am expecting parts bin specials with extremely limited quantities.
I’d love to see them go out by paying homage to some of the greatest sleds they ever made with special color schemes.
I am sure the 2025’s will be a hot commodity. There will be collectors and die hard Yamaha guys that want them for obvious reasons.
If it is anything like 2023 and 2024, few will be available.
Funny, I was thinking todays news was piss poor timing for trying to sell one of these sleds. We shall see what kind of interest there is come fall.
I don’t really want to take delivery of my new sled without selling this one first, but I’m not interested in giving it away either.
I have a 2018 RTX SE I am going to sell in the fall. I have added a slew of accessories over the years like a mountain seat, Fox Zero RC2 shocks, and more.
Is it typically best to strip all these parts off and return it to stock, or sell it as is and wait for a perspective buyer that...
Did they gain a bunch of weight when they went from the 900T to the 900R?
I have a Sidewinder and a 900T Adrenaline model. The 900 feels lighter when you are riding it and it feels MUCH lighter when you pick up the sleds to put them on dolly’s, especially up front. Perhaps it is just how the...
My SW recently started leaking coolant on the garage floor. I tore it down and found the clamps on either side of the oil cooler were loose, especially the turbo side. I won’t know until tomorrow if this fixed the leak.
