The new Gen3 Simmons I got have the saddle stamped AC-7000 and they were a tight fit, but were obviously the right ones. I think you are right about the old style being sent by them in error.

I have the Simmons Gen3. We don't do a lot of sidehilling/mountains in the northeast but we do a lot of off trail exploring. I like the flotation of the Gen3's while at the same time the deep keels for trail hookup. They are a workout however.

The beauty of the hinged guides is they don't obstruct the view of the low lights. A lot of the extensions block a lot of the taillight visibility.

I added a set of scratchers to my Simmons Gen3 Skis on my Viper .

I cut down the nylon stop nut. Drilled a small hole for a keeper pin. Easy finger tight on/off.

That is from Edge, not Yamaha. Being a snowmobile trademark, they would be using it as such. Not that Yamaha will not use the same name for a product in another division but the USPTO would grant or deny based on their intended use.
