Back ground : 2008 Vector. About 5800 miles . I really like the sled and have it decked out the way I want so would like to keep it for a backup.
So , some place I have an exhaust leak and the sled is rather loud. I talked to the service department at the big dealership in town and they said...
So got two of the clamps off . On my other sled the Donuts were completely gone or disintegrated when I took the clamps off . Here I believe these are copper but is that gap normal??
So I have not done much to this sled but it now has big exhaust leak. I did the block off the exhaust with rags and it kept right on running so my guess is the Donuts.
I bought the sled used so I had no idea the guy had already changed them . It had like 2000 miles on it and looked brand new ...
I have plans next year to buy new but I look at all the problems people are having and the recalls and I have a hard time laying out that much money .
My last few sleds have been used and then I upgrade the shocks and clutch’s and I hop back and forth from my buddies 22’s and I almost want to...
Roof rake is the best . Just take a pc of CPVC pipe and cut it the length of the blade . Next take a thin kerf Circular saw blade and cut a slit in the pipe and Insert the pipe on the end of the Roof rake . This protects your painted surface from the Aluminum metal on the blade.
I can add I have a 2017 #*$&@ Doo 1200 X and as far as drag racing my Vectors it’s a toss up but most of the time the 1200 comes out on top . Totally depends on traction. My 1200 is completely stock and the Vectors have Ulmers clutch kits .
As far as handling the Ski Doo holds the edge in the...
Nytro , awesome Engine and fairly easy to work on . I would only get the XTX long track . My brother had short track Nytro and it didn’t ride as good . Very cold sled need higher windshield and hand guards minimum. More of a point and shoot sled ! The steering has weird movement almost too low...
I have two sleds with the Mono and on both of them the cables have failed . If you go on the Barn of Parts website he has manual adjuster that’s very slick . I just unhooked the cable and left the dial adjust mounted in the side of the tunnel.
When installing the suspension back into the...
Once the rear suspension is sorted time for the front . Read thru Catmans setup and trust it . Many people have told me not to loosen the front shock springs and they are wrong ! If you want awesome handling a set of Snowtrackers carbides will help it rail and provide lighter steering. Once you...
Lookup Cannondale27 in the search. He rebuilds shocks and is very reasonable.
I’ve had at least 12 shocks refreshed by him .
If you can find a Dual rate spring for the shock it greatly improves the ride . You could ask Travis at “Barnofparts” if he has a used one . He is a vendor on this site...
Working on a new to me toy for the Grandkids! I picked this up last spring for 1000 cash with 2300 miles on it . I think I made a good deal .
Installed new battery and my old “Arrow “ skis out front and a new recoil rope . The Gentleman included a cover, lift stand for the rear , a box of...
Awesome machine ! It would scare the poop out of me to be screaming 50 MPH over the top of a dune and not know what’s on the other side !!!
Maybe PM “Kinger” look up Kinger turbo garage in the search. He seems to the Apex expert. He should be able to point you in the right direction.
The large shock in the rear only has rebound only . No compression adjustment. I’m not sure if you have a dial on the left side or your tunnel?? It will say hard soft on the dial . This adjust your rebound. If you don’t have the dial there is a screw adjustment on end of the shock which can be...
