Exactly and to get the optimum performance from a 2 stroke triple you need one pipe per cylinder. I dont see the 2S triple triple market ever coming back.
Trails in the western UP are junk right now and all the trail maintenance folks up there are saying don’t come up.
That’s a big kick in the crotch for all those businesses who rely on the sledders for their economy.
Fortunately fine, just stressful to wake up this morning and found out she was in the hospital, it’s our youngest and was out with friends in Minneapolis and you always worry. Apparently the EMG rooms were busy last night with all the ice created from the melting.
Hard to believe I was riding...
Thanks to this worthless warm up I now have an Emergency Room bill on the way. My daughter slipped on an icy sidewalk last night from all the melting and refreezing and spent the night in the ER.
There seems to no rules to winter weather anymore. Upper 30’s southern Minnesota today, northern Minnesota which should be colder is mid to upper 40’s, 40’s in the UP too. Nothing makes sense anymore.
Man we lost a lot of snow these last two days. A few more days of this and grass will be showing and I had a good 15-20” base in my yard.
I just saw some video from Nick Keller up at Pat’s in the UP and it didn’t look very good but tons of sleds there at the gas pump.
Also saw some photos...
1700 miles good for you Mike!!
I have been swamped with work projects, minus one zero off those numbers and that’s what I have. Ugh!
Yeh it is 50 plus in Houghton, Michigan today and Don is up there breaking in his new Lynx. Yikes!!
This warm up is a month too early.
Have any of you tried the SLP Mohawk skis? I had zero dart with those with a 6” carbide and a 137 Cobra 1.6 lug track. I liked how they floated too in deeper snow and they cornered real well without push issues.
SLP designed those skis on a ProCross chassis.
I had a STX-DX model with basic gas shocks. My friend had an LTX with the QS3 shocks. We hit a section of ungroomed trail with 2-3’ whoops in the Yooper Land. He could blow right through it with ease, me….got tossed around like I was trying to wrestle Hulk Hogan.
They soak up the bumps as long as you have the premium shocks. There is a world of difference in the shocks that have been offered on these machines. The basic coil over gas shocks some of them came with were nothing to write home about.
Well I will help, call Kevin at Port Yamaha in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The guy is one of the most knowledgeable parts guys I have ever dealt with. I know what he will tell you.
Secondly I had the Cobra on a couple two stroke 3 cylinder Yamaha sleds I owned too. There was a big trade off...
Dead opposite in my findings. I have the RS2 on my 2007 Attak GT with Pro Line clutching (the best there is) and my brother in law has a 2008 LTX GT anniversary model Apex. His has the Cobra 1.35 and also Pro Line clutching. Hook up off the line is side by side but about at 85-90 mph mine starts...
The Skis I really liked on my SW were the SLP Mohawks. Had no darting and they turned on a dime. SLP developed that ski on the Pro Cross chassis. They are fairly wide so they float well too.
I have never heard anyone trying these, a totally different sled, but the skis that work like no other...
I have had both, RipSaw 2 all the way. It is better in the wear department, the hook up is very close, maybe a toss up but the RP2 has better top end. Talk to the guys at Port Yamaha, they favor the RS2, they have had some issues with the Cobra.
That’s just crazy, especially when I see people posting their photos of their brand new SRX’s right now on social media.
I believe there is some delay on Don’s new sled too. We are planning a ride in January in the Keweenaw. He might be riding his old SRX or his wife’s Winder.
