Mono skid to 144 any review?

thanks for the reply. I can't imagine wanting to do a 4in set back. Seems alot. How was the ride with it back there? I plan on using extrovers. I am very familiar with track tension with my 144M10 conversion. Set the tension to 4-5 inches of hanging sag and go riding with tools, adjust...

Looking for first 4 stroke sled - need help with models

If speed is not an issue, a 12 vector is the the sled to buy, power steering and great fuel mileage, quieter motor. If you want speed, the 06-10 apexes are still as fast or faster than every other sled made, that is not a turbo. I am at 22,000 mles with zero engine issues. Runs perfect...

Mono skid to 144 any review?

I am fine on tracks. I will probably install my 1in ice attack. Love the track. I have no need for deep lug tracks. I ride the groomed trail and enjoy wacking the gas and kicking out the #*$&@ end when I want. I am more interested in information on guys running Mono skids with 144 tracks.

    Simmons skis or Snowtrackers ?

If your crafty, just make a set of spoons for the stock skis. I have built them in the past for a few sleds with great results. SLP sells them for their own ski. It is the cheapest fix for stock skis. They used to be sold as Dartless plates on ebay. Not sure where they went, maybe cease and...

Mono skid to 144 any review?

I read through most everything on here that I come up with in a search. Still never found anyone giving a review of the good the bad of a mono skid converted to 144 in either a setback or full extension. I picked up an se with a 128 and will most likely be lengthening it to use a 144 track...

Larger Upper Wheels to Prevent Track Rub on Monoshock

Travis, I think the better option is to manufacture a wear plate to slide over the end of the mount that will cover the top of the shock with steel. Then the bolt through would hold it on. I have welded plates on a couple monos in the past to accomplish this but from your side, just a simple u...

'06 Apex sometimes idles low...almost sputtering...

an update on the motor. I tried a few extra barometers and map sensors and was about to start trying harness, and a cdi box and other parts. nothing worked, I bought the sled from my friend and junked it. now another friend has put it in his. So we have changed out the complete sled on the...

06 Apex Xtx build, 4year build and still changing

dam, it has been a while. like anyone cares. Good place to keep track of my sled woes I guess. I have been through a few changes since last post. Used GYT clickers for a couple years. They ride better than the ohlins but they looked too plain on a black sled so I put another set on it. Sled...

    EZ HELO suspension mount

Interesting to say the least. The only thing that makes me wonder is in the advertising they talk about this adding dampening. I assume they mean from Tiny vibrations not Shock dampening. The way it's set up, your adding a rubber spring between the ground and you, without adding any shock...

HELP: 2006 Apex ER stall issue

nope, I gave up and took advantage of a customer who like me, was sick of the sled and just ate the labor and bought the sled to scrap. My next step was to order a set of bushings to degree the cams with. my thought was that over time, the chain stretching a bit might cause the cam timing to...

    STALLING CURE!!!

I had the head off, had a head gasket fail between cylinders. I check valves when off, later second guessing myself, I checked valve clearance again in the sled as well as cam timing thinking maybe a stretched chain might throw it off enough. sled had 10k on it.

    STALLING CURE!!!

Yes, I swaped it out and also used a a jumper I have to simulate a warm sled to test if it would not idle cold if the sensor said it was warm. Still stalls

tom, did he have any voltage reading to look for, or resistances to look for. Yamaha has nothing on these sensors to test from or to take live readings while running.

HELP: 2006 Apex ER stall issue

tried a new map sensor and also another air pressure sensor to no change, I have gone through the list of all I can think of an anything yamaha tech has said to try. I have done leak down test, checked cam timing, valve adjustment, boots, all sensors have either been replaced or tested as per...
