I’m surprised they last as long as they do… none of the holes or upper edges have very good chamfers. A little machine work would probably increase the life dramatically.
The trick with IQS would be to add Fox BOC/bottom out control, which is pretty much the same as Ohlins PDS.
With that said, everyone thinks their trash/bump sled is the best, until some dude that knows how to ride shows up with an old trailing arm Yami.
We could probably improve the SRX in the bumps by using some appropriate Ohlins with PDS. Heck, Ohlins even produced a PDS damper for the rear of the Lynx PPS suspension, soften up the main stack and keep the big hit ability. Seems as though manufacturers don’t like to offer machines that can do...
So essentially, the front cast bulkhead from the SX Viper, or more likely an SRX (so the shock towers can be easily fabricated and bolted up) will be joined via some fabricated parts to the Nytro bulkhead
.
The front radius rods will be some sort of copy from the old Yamaha Snowcross sleds...
So I’ve been looking at the how Yamaha designed the bulkhead and 2 stroke engine mounting in the old pro action chassis. It’s not exactly compatible with the rearward lay down style of the 1049 Genesis Engine and mounts. A major part of the Proaction bulkhead/frame structure sits right where the...
What helmet are you using? I’ve found that also plays a large part.
My old Shoei VFX-DT with old Scott Recoil Xi Pro Snocross goggles rarely fog. They probably don’t make either of those anymore.
I kept one adapter in case Ohlins stopped producing them. If they have stopped, it should be easy to whip a few out at this point… I have the numbers for the compression adjuster. The adjuster is fairly standard across many dampers, just shims and spring may require changing.
I’m unsure if anything terribly interesting will happen with the skid at this point... but there are always ideas floating around. Need to mull it over a bit more.
A nto 129x15x1.75” 2.52 pitch 2 ply track popped up… didn’t know such a thing existed. It’s a snocross track though, looks similar...
Glycols are denser and have significantly lower specific heat capacity when compared to water. Water is the best coolant… if it didn’t freeze, boil (to some degree as increased system pressure takes care of much) and corrode things, we wouldn’t need to add anything to it.
Not much, it's finally spring here in New England... so many projects, so this will be slow to update.
There is absolutely tons of under hood room to play with, great for the intake and exhaust systems.
The only thing I've been mulling over is the fuel tank and pump. Placing an EFI pump in the...
