Try taking those measurements at ride height, rather than full droop.

Unsure, I just brought the sled up to the old barn, so at least the 1049cc engine is next to it.

Yes, all motor is fun! The race Nytro set up is a great place to start for all motor. Ported air box, thinner Cometic head gasket, cam timing 105 intake, 107 exhaust, 2011+ Apex exhaust couplers, custom header and muffler... possibly Hindle? Fuel controller. The introduction of the 998 in the...

    SX Viper 1049cc

It's the reduction in inertia that's huge... and that can significantly aid durability and schmoooovness. I can afford them, but the younger me, which learned to do more with less, always wants to try and underdog it (relatively speaking).

Mono skid to 144 any review?

Moving the upper idler wheels rearward is how Yamaha does it with the 128" and 136". Possibly moving them further back for the 144" would be beneficial? I've always been curious about moving the rear arm back. Obviously a longer shock and transfer rod would be required.

    2008 venture questions?

That looks like the GT model as the color and reservoir shocks are a dead give away. 2009 has two models, one like your's, and an updated higher priced unit with many differences, including the body style and a larger EFI engine. I recommend getting the manual for your year.

    Toyota Corolla GR

Oh, and stock boost psi is at Diesel engine levels, 20.6 on the 268hp version, so this 300 hp version should have a few more. The aftermarket has pushed it over 39 psi.

Here's the tech on the engine. Still needs to be updated for the 300hp version. https://toyota-club.net/files/faq/20-10-20_faq_g16-engine_en.htm

    SX Viper 1049cc

Thanks for the heads up. A closer look reveals Crower plasma sprays the rods, which should prevent such issues. 450 grams is almost one pound... that's huge at 8600 rpm. Still, maybe I'll simply look into the Crower Maxi Lite billet steel...

Ooooof! Unsure if these are in the cards... I know they are generally very expensive, but seeing the number live. The snowmobile didn't cost that much to buy. https://www.crower.com/connecting-rods/ti-connecting-rods-nytro-snowmobile-4-742-c-to-c-set-of-3.html

HyGear rear coil over shock for Apex & Vectors 2016-2018

Yes, hard riding will fade the 46mm non rezi. That's why it should be considered the bare minimum for this beast of an application. The rear exhaust + the snow/ice build up doesn't help. I wonder if we could add a center shock to the front arm?.... lol!

    Skis

The thing I notice is that 2017 is the last year for the manual steering, after that the sleds all have EPS. No idea if the ski skin drop is related.

HyGear rear coil over shock for Apex & Vectors 2016-2018

Looks like the Fox 46mm from HyGear. The stock shock is 36mm.

Rise from the ashes.... time to go after this... especially now that Ohlins has both air and coil mtb shocks.
