Back of carbides were shimmed down and they are running flat so not sure what else to do there. I don’t want to reduce ski pressure as the sled is already demonstrating a slight push. I suppose I should check ski alignment tomorrow

600 Mile Update Here is a quick update after about 600 miles - The shaper bars are not working out. They are fine as far as turning goes - but they dart like crazy - especially on a well used trail. Going to put on a pair of 9" Deuce bars this week and see how that goes. - I need more preload...

New Sidewinder owner - First Impressions/Accessories/Problems/Questions

Question…..once the bypass loop hose is installed to the top of the oil tank and out by your right foot - why not leave the hose from the ROV to the airbox in place? Same with the inlet hose to the ROV. Once it’s removed from the top of the oil tank - does it really need to be removed or...

    Man I LOVE the Winder!

Great post. Love it. My SW journey has just begun. All of the issues are fixable - learning from others and making the improvements is fun (for me anyway!] and for sure adds to ownership experience. Its all about that motor…. If the weather co-operates I plan to start putting on miles week...

New Sidewinder owner - First Impressions/Accessories/Problems/Questions

I am clear on everything except what guys with the heated ROV are doing about disconnecting it electrically and/or removing it completely. I read a post where someone said to disconnect the wires and tape them off. I wouldn’t mind hearing about opinions on that question as well as this idea……...

New Sidewinder owner - First Impressions/Accessories/Problems/Questions

A question on ROV bypass/delete that I have not been able to find an answer to... So to bypass the ROV - I understand that you replace the hose going to the ROV with 5/8" fuel hose and make a loop that goes up and back down and out by the footwell with an angled cut at the bottom. Do you need...

New Sidewinder owner - First Impressions/Accessories/Problems/Questions

Thanks for all the feedback. Based on your advice I've ordered the BOP driveshaft saver and the ROV bypass/vent kit. For the ROV, based on everything I've read, I am not going to connect the BOP vent hose from the oil tank to the valve cover - I'll create a loop out of it and run it back down...

New Sidewinder owner - First Impressions/Accessories/Problems/Questions

Thanks for that feedback. I read that bypass ROV link previously - but it says that the problem applies to MY ‘19 sleds and older. Is that not accurate?

Sorry - I am not near the sled for a week or so - so cant take pics - but see website screenshots below. When installing the UNT bracket, I made one change. Instead of bumping up the back of the bracket against the rearmost rivet on the top of the tunnel, I moved it about 1" further back than...

New Sidewinder owner - First Impressions/Accessories/Problems/Questions

After 40 years of sled ownership I'm back to Yamaha. First 10 years-Skidoo, next 10-Yamaha & Polaris, last 20 - Skidoo - most recently on a Renegade 1200X which I loved. Walked into Yamaha dealer in the fall and they had a new '22 LTX-GT EPS that somebody just backed out of so I bought it. I...
