I broke a bolt and lost a wheel and standoff. I thought maybe to much weight on wheel and not enough on slide rail, 8.5" wheel kept hyfax 1/4" off rail, I am running 137". He did send tougher bolts with new wheel kit.
Just spent 7 hours replacing this hose, on a saddlebag trip in Quebec. Very cold conditions and dropped a large piece of ice which punctured hose and lost coolant. Very poor design and a lot of work to repair. Lost time, money and inconvenienced other riders in our group, now catching hell from...
3,600 miles, changed belt at 700 due to flatspotting it getting stuck. 2,900 miles on current belt , still looks good but ready to change it before I blow it.
Retuned from our trip to the Gaspe Peninsula Quebec. If interested in seeing some of the most awesome trails and senery check out www.darksideadvntures.com. Go to the frostbytes page and read our blog and check out the pictures.
I just returned from my trip to the Gaspe Quebec and have 2,900 miles at this time. I did change my original belt at 700 miles due to flat spotting it getting stuck on a dead end trail. So I have 2,200 miles on current belt. I have to admit I only pinched it off a couple of times on the wide...
I sanded entire ramp surface starting with 120 grit and finished with 320 followed by 400. It did not take much on mine to make 3rd roller contact. I have put on 1,000 miles sine I did this and it looks fine. I'm going to buy rollers from Ulmer when I get back from my trip.
I have 1,500 miles on mine with no issues except it started to flat spot rollers. I took my helix off and sanded and repolished ramps so 3rd ramp not touching would touch and no further flat spotting. Everything else has been fine.

Had to leave a sled in Chibougamau Quebec one year because of no skid plate. Could have bought a dozen of them for what it cost to go back and get it. Oh by the way he was on the the trail.
I should have checked mine sooner, caught it just in time. The inner cage that holds the bearings was coming apart. Checked my sons with 12,000 miles and it looked pretty dry so we replaced it. You can remove your primary and pop the seal out of the bearing to clean and add grease like you have...
Just got back from my ride in the Brimley area and it was spring riding, 60 degrees and bright sunshine. You have to stay in the woods where there is still 1-2 feet of snow but going fast. Pretty sloppy and rough. Anywhere they plowed it's gone. It was a beautiful day but I am afraid it's the...
31,000 miles 2009 XTX. I'm on my 3rd track, replace bearings when needed, new ball joints and tie rods at 27,000 (these were way overdue at this mileage). Replaced bearing and PTO shaft this year. Also replaced drive axle and cracked exhaust header. Motor runs great, best sled I've had. Been...
