Well the battery is due my 14 is on its 3rd & the 15 is on it's second. The speedo pulls power continuously and the batteries today are no challenge for those of yore. I run drip chargers on mine and still do not last. The viper is notorious for no start with a slightly drained battery
Well after more than twenty years of walking like a duck and riding mainly in a locked in position due to back and hip problems I finally got my right (first) hip replacement last night. After 16 hr's there is no pain nothing but Tylenol and I touched my toes for the first time in 15 years. I...
Boy trying to find something 15 or more years old is tough. If they were ridden hard everything from suspension to clutching, exhaust and all bearings in drive train need to be reviewed.
They were so heavy that everything took a beating and the 121" barely made a season when I was riding them...
I cannot say for the mcx but my sleds with mpi turbos are flawless if you have proper fuel map and do not push too many lbs of boost on stock motor.
In 7000 mile no overheat issues even in low snow.
Well the 141 is uncoupled but will load the track and suspension much better than the flat 137 if you find a nose coming up too much and you're spending that much money anyway high gear makes a coupling system for the 141 in uncoupled suspension that is phenomenal I have 2 XTX vipers with turbos...
Yup sounds like my story. 14 xtx with mpi supposed 180 kit which it was not pushed and blew up. Rebuilt and went big. Axys shocks and 240 pump 265 race gas and then moved all of that at 3000 miles to the 15 xtx which now has 2000 miles on it and also popped the head gasket and fixed with arp...
An oil and filter change was required at 500 mile break in before next season I would do that. Otherwise ride it if you have cold or warm starting issues check with dealer to see if it was eber updated flash wise they can tell by the vin #. Then ride it for as many miles as you want and if...
Mine is the cobra 1.6" single ply 141" on the XTX
The 137 will be similar because the driver pitch is 2.86 so 137 / 2.86 = 48 paddles
the 141 driver is a 3.0 pitch so 141 / 3.0 = 47 paddles
The contact patch is slightly smaller but the rows of paddles are very similar. I have ridden turbo LTX...
I am running the 1.6" single ply on my turbo viper at over 260 hp with 144 1.85" studs. It out hooks any other track I have drag raced and has no wear with over 5000 miles on it. It is as smooth as a ripsaw on hard packed trails and can handle 3' deep fresh snow with ease.
I too owned and sold several nutros from shorties to xtx and sold them quickly. They were all very twitchy and hard on my arms. I have 2 viper xtx both with turbos one now is 400 ish hours and drag sled only the trail sled is 265 and a blast. I think my boosted vipers are faster than the winders...
Yup I've been running the hygear for 4 yes and love them think of doing there linkage system at the same time it changes the 141 into a true trail burner.
Well they can all have issues but this change mid 16 sure has made the viper suspect for anything but a n/a sled anymore.
Back in 04 05 winter I threw a rod on an rx-1 with 6000 miles on it stock but a Hauck gyt-r-dun exhaust. They blamed the pipe and warranty expired because it was snow...
I am 57 and have 2 turbo'ed XTX's they are a handful but I would never add power steering. I have ridden many ltx's and only 1 that was set up poorly was a bit hard to turn. I have 144 picks on my trail sled with tuner II skis with 8" carbides inside and 6" out side and never have arm fatigue
That's a loaded question there are so many viper models and all have been changed in different ways. The motor has also changed in 16 and if your thinking of turbo stay 14 or 15. There also has been at least 3 ecu flash upgrades in 5 years for idle, starting and other reasons.
Yes there is Dyno tests on here proving the muflerm is choking them. The EVO flash is done by a bunch of shops like Ulmer you send your computer to them
The power comander is the way to go and with larger injectors you should be able to dial that thing up a bit especially with the Lord compression might not be a bad idea to do an evil flash to pull sometiming though. The muffler is the real weak link it may be robbing you as much as 40 horsepower
