Me and wife been braaapn our 2004s we got about a foot and a have of snow in western Canadian prairies now,but it’s minus 30-40 degrees Celsius now lol, should be warmer this weekend
It should expand past the full line when warm, maybe you need to shine a flashlight through side of bottle to verify it’s disappeared cause our red prestone we use is really hard to see in the light
I’ve seen them for sale in eastern Canada with over 40,000kms on them and looking pretty stock to boot! They must have some comfy trails there cause both mine get beat up pretty bad
Kimpex cable scratchers mounted on rails past the low snow wheels for the win! I wire them up on the rail when not using them but don’t forget it takes about 3-10 seconds to start burning your sliders
It just dawned on me that the early Yamaha venture is basically a RX1 body, so if anyone is looking for side panels or windshield etc. It’s still available!!!
Pretty much just search the things I listed.....I too am getting up In years and I find the snowbike easy in snow but not easy on hard pack snow so I prefer my sled more, I also want to make my own coolant heated handle bars (home made) then I’m pretty much set!
So far I did a JD jet kit, grey wire mod, opened up rear exhaust a bit,AIS plugged off, throttle screw, did hand guards, for snowbikeing I did thermobob, engine blanket, temperature gauge lots of work on this bike...pretty happy with it now !
I scored a 2011 wr450 and a 2013 120 timbersled, yeti front ski,thermobob, engine blanket, koso temp gauge,seat foam and cover off a DR650 etc.
First time on a snowbike seems pretty cool
On hard pack feels like you have flat tires lol I was surprised at that,
it’s hard to train yourself not to...
I have the cable scratchers on the skid, rails works good, doesn’t the ski scratchers make steering kinda funky? Sometimes I find it hard to steer as it is in the right conditions.worst scratchers I ever had was the Yamaha A arm ones, maybe one day Yamaha will repay me for those haha
I have one spare left to use, had to trim it up it was way to big! If eBay runs out of them by the next time I need one, it might be worth trying to make my own with a heat gun?
