    Shortened the strap by 2 notches and adjusted the control arm, and the clunking has stopped. :-) thank you so much for the tip.

    Yes there is a limiter strap under the 2 pounds of ice that I removed. But it looks intact so far, still cleaning up the area.

    Not sure about the limiter strap, but another factor I think that might be important is that the previous owner probably weighs about 150 lbs. more than my wife. Maybe there is a rebound adjustment that I need to play around with.
