Again. What does the motor size have to do with it. Noise is decibels not cc’s. Hell all these sleds are quiet now if Yamaha had to make a super quiet exhaust to get it through a test they can. Motor size is negligible.
Cat will have parts for chassis for along time. Yamaha uses motor in sxs’s and lots of aftermarket motor builders and parts builders so they will be fine too. Adapting to a diff clutch is only issue down the road.
Other thing, Polaris owns timbered, yz 450f is badass a would be good candidate for Polaris and Yamaha to partner a release a true snow bike from factory.

There has been rumors of 998t in the Matryx chassis. I would prefer that honestly. As a 850 xcr is my next move I have 0 interest in a turbo 2smoke time bomb that requires huge investment at stock levels every few thousand miles. Boosted to run with our sidewinder trail sleds would give...
I see them holding in value. People that want them will want them still and they are reliable. So alot will hold onto them closer now.
With that said cat made the chassis and is still in business to get parts for that and Yamaha still makes the motors in their sxs so we can get parts for that...
Ice attack tracks are not a long life with high power. I’d go with the 144-168 studs in a non ice storm or in a ripsaw 2 1.5”. Kinda wish I went storm for mine but playing on the lakes had me rethink it. Sounds like you wanted the ltx le not the srx.
They have but those weights were with “4 gal” of gas. Add the other 6 and 50lbs more. And that’s assuming they weren’t off on some the numbers they used in first place which it seems they were. And they didn’t show cats at all. Idk why.
But the sled rags have very little credibility at this...
Hell same sled verys 30-40lbs from year to year. I bet st does their test it would be same or close year to year. If it was that off then skidoo would have proven them wrong fairly quickly. All these doo talk guys can go prove them wrong quickly. We always weigh the Yamahas wet and post it. They...
The disparity in the weights they received year to year wasn’t enough to question those? The 850 renegade one year with 5 gal was so much heavier that even empty it wouldn’t weigh what it did 2 years earlier. The Yamaha srx and thundercat have always weighed full what we saw on st which is what...
Yes our weight counter actually some, however we control our weight and it’s centralized. You love motor back 2” and it will be more noticeable than you think. You’re a smart guy I expected More from you in this simple topic. As bf yes my shopping cart example isn’t the same but it shows what...
Nope always knew 650+- 20lbs was the weight depending on model. Many many people posted photos of weighing them.
And as far as the weight on tunnel I agree. If you wanna test this take case of water and put it in front of your shopping cart. Then try it in the back of the cart. You’re just...
You were saying you let your dealer handle rebuilds and charging and oil change. Once you’re at that point it’s a cpl seals a dump oil in. You “charge” it to use it when you fill it with nitrogen. So that’s what baffled me.
