Eric, you end up ordering one of these, I'm looking into dropping my 1.75 down to a 1.6 but dont want to dump that money into it if it wont hook up that well and im scared to stud the 1.75.
I never had rebound issues with my RTX, but again i stand. the 07 is a completely different chassis so comparing is apples to oranges. the XTX sleds are known for not returning to "full rebound" but again, the XTX has a completely different suspension geometry.
I am a 99% standing rider and have had no issues with either of my Nytros as far as handling. They are known to push and be a little tippy, i have fixed this with Bergstrom Carbides and Curve skis on the other sled, The Tippy feeling is not there to me but i do lean into every corner and am...
I thought i was done a month ago, sled is tucked away in the garage..... 8" over the weekend up north and 4-8 through the night tonight...Schuss Mtn (ski hill) has added a hill climb this weekend so i guess i will go for some cheap seat time. its only a 500' straight line "hill climb" 30-40*...
"Correction Factor" would be a ratio/percentage that is multiplied by the HP numbers to give a reading in a standard environment. (sea level, 70*F i believe, set Baro......) i know this because i had Dyno and Airflow classes in college that we had to calculate the correction factor before...
Any Michigan/Local guys planning on going to this? I just started to see this on FB and from friends and would like to run but know i would get spanked as my 14 Nytro XTX 1.75 with a pipe is considered MTN Imporved.
I copied this text from HCS, hope this isn't a no-no.
Yankee Zephyr Racing...
I have a 2 place enclosed trailer bare right now, but i have a plywood base in the bed of my truck for trips without the trailer and just used a good coat of outdoor paint we had leftover, then as it is tacky i sprinkled sand on it and a light coat over it to smooth the clumps out. i could...
I agree on the color, i think it was DrantteelSS that posted the photos of the sidewinder and i could see the all black and red Viper in the back. that same color or the all black and orange on the sidewinder would be really cool. my guess would be that Yamaha wants the new model to really...
I found this on Facebook. I don't know the guy that posted it but I figured the numbers look legit.
In Summary all sleds with 1/2 tank of fuel,
14 Polaris RMK 800 (155 i think)- 502 lbs
15 Cat 800 HC 141- 514 lbs
15 Viper 1000 141- 556 lbs
So hypothetically +10 for a Sidewinder 566 lbs.
I got a plug from work and just ran a power and ground to the battery with a fuse on the power side so i can pull it in the off season and if i don't ride for a while. not the cleanest looking setup but it works for the GPS and phone if needed.
Getting back to is this the end...I would say this confirms Sidewinder is taking the place of Apex. I would think this is like 2014, the Viper came out and Nytro was still made but come 2015 Nytro was gone.
another point is that the vector is gone in 2017, i know this wasn't a big name sled for Yamaha but it is on the same chassis as the Apex, was it not? And I dont think they got rid of the Vector because of the engine because the 1049 is still in the Vipers.
I had this issue pulling my glove straps (FXR Mountain Yami), i tied para-cord through them and a small knot. this way if they end up in my sleeve they don't cut me like a zip tie and stay warmer unlike metal key rings.
I saw that one but didn't like that its just plywood, I figured it would get slippery when icy. my ski guides are screwed into the two sides and can be removed for summer (ATVs). I think the grip guides would be nice as long as they secure down. just may end up a little heavier in the end but...
I bought a tri fold with the ski guides on it already, then saw the dressed caliber ramp at the sled show and almost cried lol. i will probably add their center ramp grips at the end of the year in case i have to load another sled with studs. when my dad bought his i loaded it and have a hole in...
