    Viper MCX 270 AVgas

Can I get an answer before my season ends?

    Viper MCX 270 AVgas

I run 15psi boost on 93 octane fuel as recommended by mcx, but I recently got my hands on some AVgas 100LL. I decided to go 50/50 with AVgas and 91 octane. What boost can I safely run with this mix, eventually other mixes? I'm guessing all I gotta do is adjust the wastegate actuator.

    Flex pipe pain!

My 16' Viper has had a small exhaust leak since day 1. I recently discovered this because I learned the boost pressure was a bit lower than standard. The header had a crack where the 3to1 meets the 2,5" pipe and that was right under the fuel tank! Potential bombshell caused by poor workmanship...

    Sudden loss of power

So the SPI header came first. In fact I haven't even heard from MCX... I threw it in there, and now everything is perfect! Got the right amount of boost, noise, and turbolag. However, SPI "highly recommended" a powercommander, and a new clutch kit. I'm happy with the clutching I have, but why...

    2020 Sled Season

Our season has barely started! The trail to the mountains in my home town haven't legally opened yet because Norway. We have 3ft of snow at sea level, the ditches by the road have so much snow you can't look over them in a car, and around 10ft of snow at 3000ft elevation. And there's even more...

    2021 Release?

I have a boosted Viper that I love very much. I've never tested a Sidewinder because I'm afraid I'll have to buy one. Thought I'd wait for a new release instead. I suddenly remembered the long awaited release is today. So I hopped on the computer as my food got cold, my mind raced as I searched...

    Sudden loss of power

I'd trust an aftermarket header more because they're whole pipes. I'm ordering one SPI, one MCX, returning the one that arrives last. Can't be any noticable difference between the two.

    Sudden loss of power

Yeah what a relief! There has to be other people who's had this problem so soon.

    Sudden loss of power

Yep it's got a 5" long crack with a lot of opening. No wonder I had massive turbolag. Also looked like there was an opening on the 2,5" pipe where it meets the 3 pipes. The welding line was in there pretty good.

    Sudden loss of power

Could it be caused by the deceleration backfire I got after reflash? I'm awaiting a new mcx manifold to reduce turbo lag, so hoping it's my exhaust leaking, and not valves or anything. Heading out to pull the fuel tank now. Thanks

Serious stuff right there, what caused it?

    Sudden loss of power

Viper MTX '16 Mcx270. 4500km. Went out for a ride today, everything seemed fine. Pulled over to talk to someone. After a few minutes I fired it up again and noticed it only got 4psi boost full throttle. It didn't make as much noise. After a while it started improving, but haven't gotten more...

    Hit a stump

Bent mine last season hitting a rock. Visually it didn't seem bent, but I measured the angles. They do lose a lot of strenght when they're bent, but I pressed mine straight again since I couldn't wait for a new one. Still don't need one.

2005 vector power loss after 60mph

Cleaned my clutches and noticed more response, not taking interest in top speed.

Chain case overfill - is it a problem?

I accidentally filled mine to top of sight glass, didn't bother to take it apart an leak some out. It shouldn't make a difference with a few more ounces.

2005 vector power loss after 60mph

Yeah the engine would pull false air right? Think you're onto something

2005 vector power loss after 60mph

Yes that could be the case, so go ahead and check them. Make sure they're the right ones too. How long since last check?

    Frustrated with Yamaha

Well something has to make it stop, and I bet it's not electrical. Guess it's the throttle body?
