    Uneven Carbide wear

So do you think I should adjust the shims /ski rubbers so that each ski is similarly situated with the front only slightly higher when on the stand?

    Uneven Carbide wear

Absolutely - I'm just surprised how it is so worn towards the very back - the other carbide doesn't appear to be wearing in the same pattern.

Fan Reverse Plug and Play Harness now in stock

Got my fan reverse from Barn of Parts but wondered where the instructions where until I popped the hood - easiest thing ever to install! Thanks for the quick delivery and easy to use product. :sled1:

    Clutching on the cheap

Thanks for the pics Yamamarc - I just noticed you put the primary shims in the cover - I actually put mine on the other end of the spring - does anyone think it matters? I went ahead and bought the MPI rivets and put them in the tip - pricey, but hopefully gets my RPMs down enough up top...

    Uneven Carbide wear

Has anyone else noticed the clutch side ski having pronounced carbide wear near the back of the carbide? In the attached picture the clutch side carbide is on the right, notice at the back how thin it is and half of the carbide itself is missing. I put a level on the flat edge of the ski right...

    1.375 ice attack

From what I understand the Ripper is based on Ripsaw 1 lug design, Attack XT is Ripsaw 2. The Camoplast website description of the Ice Attak XT says it offers better traction than the ripper. A google search will bring up the other brand forum with lots of discussions, I think they were being...

    1.375 ice attack

Pretty good debate on Ice Attak 1.375 Vs. 1.22 Ice Attack XT on another brand forum. No matter what, you don't want the Ice Ripper, and some say the 1.5 ice cobra folds over and has so few studs that it isn't worth it. When I was shopping last week TracksUsa had one of the 129 Ice Attack 1.375...

    Clutching on the cheap

I'll be interested in your results nos-pro, as I'm also getting ready to add a couple more grams. Going to do some long pulls this weekend to validate what I saw in short runs earlier this week.

So what do you think of the 16's

Must be the new model is coming out when Cat announces next week. Looks like some nice refinements, but nothing groundbreaking. I think the Doo release and the Yamaha release are another recognition of the fact that the entire sled market is dwindling in sales and profitability and therefore...

    Clutching on the cheap

Yup, 9340. I cleared the tach and took off slow to be sure that was an accurate top end rpm reading. I didn't hear or feel it knocking the limiter, but I was running out of room and had to get on the brakes.

    Clutching on the cheap

I tried the removal of two shims, didn't take away much punch, just a little less midrange track spin. No where near the different I felt going to 3-3 on the secondary. (I'm unstudded). Kept me off the limiter on take off except when getting air crossing road one time in 50 mile ride. But, still...

    Clutching on the cheap

A couple weeks back I was here: Well, I almost got mine dialed in. I've got about 800 miles on it. 14 rtx unstudded, 8dn belt 8fp weights, 4.5 in tip, 2.44 in center Gwg spring with 4 shims 46/40 helix Wrap is at 6-1 Awesome everywhere, but max speed is 97, banging the rev limiter somewhere...

    Let's see those wrapped sleds!

MrSled, I darn near failed kindergarten due to my lack of ability to properly draw a stick man! I'm not your guy, but will encourage the individual quoting the work I mentioned above to get in touch with you!

    Upgrade Phazer to Viper?

Well I pulled the trigger guys, found a brand new 2014 RTX in blue! Took note of a couple of measurements: I moved the bars up from where the dealer had them and was able to get them to 36" approximately from the footwell to the bar. Doing this also put them in the exact fore/aft position...

Yeah, I figured it wouldn't be to everyones taste :yam:. Do you have a sticker guy that advertises here?

    Powermadd handguard mirrors

The mirrors I have fold down, but the 2" riser and handguards make the Phazer cover a challenge.

    Let's see those wrapped sleds!

How are the Tunnel wraps holding up by the footwell? I'm considering something simple there; worried that my boots will mar the white finish. Otherwise, I like the stock look but am thinking about adding my riding area code to this blank area. I had this green cat head on my first ever sled...

    Powermadd handguard mirrors

I use those powermadd mirrors on my Phazer, work well to see headlights, but don't expect a view like the mirrors on your car. Mine rotate to change the angle. Not sure what to do on my Viper. Decided to go to a big windshield and no handguards, I might need to get out my wrist mirror again.
