Code 13 is cylinder #1 pressure sensor open or short circuit. You possibly have a wire or connector issue with that sensor.

I don't imagine the SC makes it easy to squirt some ether in it when it doesn't want to fire. The other issue I see with squirting highly flammable spray into the intake on a SC is if it backfired through the intake it would probably explode the whole system. During testing I've found they'll fire a spark just by rotating the clutch by hand. Your situation sounds most likely a bad crank trigger coil but could also be due to corroded connections. It'll require some digging around to verify.

Not a Viper but I've been using that exact oil in both our Phazers and Doo 4-strokes, no issues at all. I had bought a couple 12 quart boxes of it two years ago for $50 each but those prices are long gone. I'll probably switch to 5w-30 next oil change due to better availability.
