I had another epic ride today. Climber to an elevation of 8,500'. I did get stuck twice and rolled it over once.
On top of the world. This is the highest point in this mountain range. Excuse my language but it took balls to get the Phazer up there. My riding partner was on a Summit 800...
If you have never rode in the mountains this is one of those things you must do before you depart this world. It was an epic day of riding. Some pics for the day. Elevation was around 8,000'. I did get a little to confident and rolled the sled on a high mark. I was luck that the handlebars...
He didn't want to trade but you can buy them if you like. I passed on it because we have no snow and I wasn't planning to bring the sled out west to the mountains.
As it turns out I brought the sled out to the mountains so I might have ended up needing the skis. I'll see how the Tuner skis...
Wait until they supercharge the Ace, whole new ball game. My dream sled, supercharged Skidoo 600 4 stroke making over 100hp with a 154 track and still getting 29mpg.
I decided to bring the Phazer because after talking to the tour company their base machine is a Skidoo Ace 600. You can upgrade to a 600 Summit with the 154 track if you like. I asked the tour company lady what the track length on the Ace was and she wasn't sure. A quick google search showed...
The area I'm riding will get to 8,000'. Just wondering how bad it will get and if it's important to modify the sled. I'm also running 9 tooth drive but have a spare 8 tooth.
Thanks for the advice. I'm running the new style secondary with the 41 helix and Ulmer's clutch kit. Full throttle at around 1500' I see 11,600. What elevation will I start having problems? At what RPM should I be trying for so it's correct at higher elevation? Heavier secondary spring?
Thanks for all the replies. It does look like Golden is where I'll be riding. I've decided it would be best not to use my own sled. I've talked to a few people who have done a similar trip and all say it's best to rent. I won't have to worry about transporting the sled, damaging it from a...
Yeah I did find out that this weekend that you can't ride in the Canmore/Banff area. I knew there was training involved in being able to find a dig someone out. My buddy told me that it's a "skill". Because I on have a couple of days I wasn't planning anything extreme. Just a nice ride at...
PM me pictures and price please. I also have some almost new Yamaha trail skis with yellow hoops if your interested in a trade. Shipping would be cheap, north of you with shipping to Ifalls 56649.
Thanks for all the info. I have a friend who has ridden in the mountains and has a transceiver, probe and shovel that I can borrow. It's too bad he can't come with me but he has work obligations. I have to be in Calgary to do some mandatory work courses on Thurs and Friday so I thought why...
