When running an 8DN belt[hard like steel] you will develop a groove down low on the primary. The higher the engagement the sled is set up for the more the groove develops...kind of normal on most yamaha primaries.
I keep a couple new and a couple used primaries and secondaries for both my SW and Apex in "parts heaven' above my garage but I still operate 3 sleds that one day may need one so not willing to part with them.
I have used Thunder Product rollers for many thousands of miles on my SW and they have stood up well but I have pretty well always had an Apex clutch on it.
My Flasher is a mess after it drifted under the header many years ago and severely melted! Amazingly it still works but I have had to patch it up. After the melting incident I built a bracket to secure it in place better then the zip ties I used initially. Not pretty but it works for me.
