I was thinking maybe the chain was too tight last year. The gear teeth look good on the lower and upper gears though. The jackshaft bearing by the brake just sounds horrid.
It has 8700 kms on it now.
There was enough. For 100 kms I was shocked on how dark the oil was. I looked over the gears. Washed them down with brake cleaner. They all look good.
I changed the jackshaft bearing behind the secondary this summer. It was really rough.
This year started out with an oil leak. I replaced the...
Is it normal to have marks from the chain in the gears? I only have marks on the smallest gear. Part number 8FB-17692-00.
I started out with an oil leak. Once inside I noticed the jackshaft bearing closest to the brake calliper was rough and noisy. The oil was dark for how little use it has...
I put in new Oilite bushings in my sled. I noticed the left upper a arm has been bent slightly. I was thinking of replacing it with a new one. Anyone know if the a arms come painted if i order a Yamaha one? If they don't come painted, anyone know the paint code for the red so I can have it...
The 06-07 Nytros are great sleds. The hood opens wide open making it super simple to work on. Very reliable. Assuming you take care of the carbs, they run great. Tons of power and easy on fuel. My riding buddy had a 08 Phazer and we burnt exactly the same amount of fuel on our rides, but I had...
I can do it without removing the rack of carbs. It will fli over. I stick a rubber floor mat under the carbs to support them.
I suggest buying all new jets and all new carb bowl screws. Make sure you use a quality screwdriver to remove the screws. The heads are easily damaged.
It was pretty straight forward. I gave them a good cleaning then put back together. I replaced the three buttons. Just to confirm, there is no grease or lube on anything?
Get them redone. Its a waste otherwise. Its costs very little in the grand scheme of things. I waited way too long. Everything else takes a beating. The machine rides so much better. Handles so much better. I'm going replace the track next year and ill have the shocks redone then too.
That seems odd. Starting fluid should light it off even if the bowls are dry. Also odd having three cylinders not being able to produce a spark to light the fluid off. Maybe a bad ground somewhere? Stator? Take a plugs out and crank it while the plugs are in the COPs. See if they spark.
FYI These sleds need to be started in summer. The carb bowls run dry then they are a bugger to reprime. I start mine up once every couple of months and never have any troubles.
I would set everything up as per the manual and go from there. It would be pointless with worn shocks though. I find limiting weigh transfer helps a lot for safety and steering. I barely have any weight transfer. Hygear torsen spacers are very good upgrade to help prevent bottoming.
I gave up on Facebook a few years ago. It was great to share pictures but not everyone is your friend. People can twist nonsense out of anything these days.
