    I am with you on the lawsuit idea. I would love to believe that Yamaha would do it as a jesture of good will, but I highly doubt it. Someone has a good lawyer that has put Yammie over the barrel and this is their cheapest way out. IMHO.

    So what do you experienced turbo experts think? :ORC Looking at the pics, I would think a rear mount would be the easiest? In stock form, it is supposed to be a premuim gas motor, so compression is high? Will that mean a head shim or low comp pistons? Can you get low comp pistons...

    I would wait a year or two to see how they run first. The 500 is going to be pretty high strung to wring 80 ponies out of her. I will let others go through the teething pains and pick one up then. I do like the concept though. Let's see what happens when they put the 450 jugs on it!! :D

    Not sure if I like the looks of them at this point either. Tell you what though, I DO really want to take one for a spin. If they work well and are priced right, I think they will sell like hotcakes. I wonder what that little thumper will be like on the snow? A reliable 80HP out of a 500CC...

    Does the mono skid work OK with the extensions? What about the approach angle? Don't imagine there are many log tracked mono's out there to draw experience from. :yam:

    Be careful. I don't know if they use a relay to turn the fan on and off or not. If it is switched by a transistor (or whatever solid state device they use) that is integral to the ECU, then not having the fan load there any more could cause other problems. Just had that happen once with...

    From what I have read, the grip heaters appear to be perminently connected in series and would be designed accordingly. They would only be able to conduct so much current and dissipate so many watts of heat. Hooking them in parallel would double the wattage and I would bet they would fail...

    Turbo Question

    Snow Fever built his own turbo system a couple of years ago. Do a search on his user name and do some reading. It was no small feat (he is a very talented guy) and the APEX will be more complex with the fuel delivery system. I say, if you have the time, talent and knowledge, go for it! ;)!

    Those battery tenders are a really great device. For these 4 strokes that rely heavily on good batteries, it should be the first accessory that an owner buys. Who ever thought buying a set of booster cables could be so complicated!! :drink: :yam:

    Yup, you are both right as long as you have a healthy battery. If the battery doesn't want to take charge, then the starter is going to be pulling all of it's power from the other healthy battery via the cables. If you have a frozen or shorted cell in the battery, then the fuse in the cables...
