My Apex has stopped charging the battery.
From what I have read, I believe I either have a bad stator, or a bad voltage regulator.
How do I test the voltage regulator vs. the stator?
Not sure where to start my diagnosis. In 15 miles of riding I went from a fully charged brand new...
I've gone through several. Bypass valve helps a lot.
Proper tension seems to be the key.
I have lost one that I believe was due to the tension being too tight. I'm going to check my idler bearing per Derek's post...
I have enjoyed my supercharged Apex, and been around a fair number of boosted Nytros.
If I was to do it all over again I would undoubtedly go turbo, it just suits what I wanted to do better...
However, to really answer your question, I say Pro RMK all the way. That chassis is so fun...
I don't think there is a spring out there that will get you to engage at 2000rpm. IMO that is way too low of engagement on these motors anyway.
I think the most readily available spring that would help your cause is the blue/pink/blue primary spring.
I'm sure if you search online you...
Both tracks are going to be a huge upgrade. If you plan on adding boost at a later date it might be a good time to upgrade to avid drivers if you really want the Peak track.
Before I modified my intake I would bog in deep powder constantly. My first approach was to cut a hole in the hood directly above the intake and use a screen to see if that would help. It was better until the powder covered the hood. So, I built an intake that puts the entire MPI filter above...
There is definitely a Jacobsen roll over kit for the Apex. He installed the first one on my sled personally. Excellent product and unbeatable peace of mind!
I've always been disappointed with the mileage of my Apex, but I thought it was all the supercharger. Looks like the stockers don't fare much better. I've seen as high as 7.5mpg and as low as 4mpg.
Feeling pretty good about my boosted mileage now.
MTN Viper's roll over valve and tether kit is hands down the best non power adder mod I've done to my sled. I had it upside down for probably 45 minutes the last ride out while I unstuck myself up on the hill where no one could get to me.
Re: clarification
It will still be turning and making some boost, but doesn't the G-Force only make like 2 pounds of boost?
When I go from the lake next to my house (4800 ft) up to where I like to ride (7000 + ft) I usually lose 2-3 pounds of boost on my gauge. This is why most guys say...
At the elevations most of us mtn riders are at I highly doubt the Yamacharger is going to be enough boost and corresponding hp that the cost would be worth it. A guy would be far better off to pick up a used stage one kit from MPI for the small difference in price over the Yamacharger in my...
So what's the theoretical top speed for 20/40?
I've seen 115ish on the dream meter and always just backed out of it. With boost of course.
To the OP. What is your weight setup currently?
A good rule of thumb is 100 rpm for every gram.
Install Hyperfax. Problem solved for me.
I even removed all my wheels last year, and can see almost no wear in 2 seasons of mtn riding. I only run the scratchers to kick snow up on the heat exchangers.
15 gallons? Wow, I could use that! I wonder if it would fit our tunnels?
I absolutely love the extra power with the supercharger, but I'm often worried about fuel on those deep days.
If your weights are bare, and you need 800rpm its gonna be a chore.
Without spending much money you might be able to go to a stiffer primary spring. Then maybe increase the twist on your secondary spring. Both those should help you get more RPM.
