I have to change the one-way bearing out on the RS engine in a 2006 VK Pro. Is there a generic puller that can be used to do this? Crowfoot? I am reading that the threaded receiver holes are M8?
Any suggestions or guidance from experience?
Well, that escalated quickly. Parts arrived yesterday, approx 6 weeks from order date, not ridiculous considering the $$ I saved on this non-urgent project. Genuine Yamaha labels on the parts, no knock off junk. I should be into this one some time in April once the season is over for us.
I was able to use FedEx to try and speed things up. Just got the import tax charges last night and cleared that up. Hopefully that means things are moving along...
Yes I ended up having to pay an additional shipping fee due their calculated weight being less than the packages actual weight... okee. It was like $2.68, which is great, but it did hold things up for a couple of more days.
Slow going over this way. Parts are cheap, but the process is very slow. I made this order a month ago and it still isn't shipped to me from Japan yet, it is supposed to ship this week. I expect that will take 3-4weeks to make the trek to me after that. I didn't want to tear into this...
I just made my order for the one way brg and the gasket. My brg only just started to fail and I didn't use it after, so I'm banking on needing minimums for parts for now.
Site seems good, waiting to get charged for shipping now once they prepare the parts.
OK now that's awesome. I have never heard of that site before, but if they are for real, that cuts my part cost in half. Have you ever ordered from these guys successfully, or anyone else on this forum?
Not exactly a cheap repair this one.

I'm thinking this will have to be a Summer job, unfortunately. Too many other sleds, interests and want to make max use of the snow conditions we have instead of wrenching. I will gather the parts I need just the same.
Looks like my one-way bearing has packed it in on my main grooming sled, dang it.
Ordering parts soon and will get into it, appears the side cover can come off the engine without removing motor mount bolts, exhaust, etc. which is a big plus:
Have either of you done this before? I am reading...
Goose neck mount is indeed a game changer for ski pressure. If you only use a snowmobile for grooming and you aren't concerned about resale, it's a great way to go if you can get the hitch on top of or slightly ahead of the upper rear idlers.
In my case, a snowmobile has to do many tasks, so...
Nearly all of these big WT/SWT machines suffer from rear suspension load-up in wet snow conditions. The ones that have a torsion-spring style rear skid seem to break up the materials better as the suspension parts slice and dice it into smaller pieces as it strokes. The ProAction rear skid on...
To my knowledge it remained the same old wheel and bearing for the entire run of the ProAction coil over shock rear suspension in the VK3 and the VKPro. I have already modified the rear suspension axle to take a Ski-doo 165mm rear wheel and replaceable 6004 bearing. The next time I get the...
