Arctic Cat Catalyst: Is a Turbocharged Four-Stroke Engine Coming?

My wife rides an 850 VR1, and it is stronger than my 900, everywhere, so you can imagine how I feel coming from 16lbs of boost on a 998.

Arctic Cat Catalyst: Is a Turbocharged Four-Stroke Engine Coming?

Possibly, but there have been issues with Hurricane and MCX on the 900R as well. Maybe Whalen will get it right. Precision Sports in Quebec seems to be the most reputable tuner for these things, but the cost is steep. We have been spoiled with cheap power on the 998T. Don’t get me wrong, the...

Arctic Cat Catalyst: Is a Turbocharged Four-Stroke Engine Coming?

I have a 900R Lynx and I absolutely hate this powerplant. It is a turd. They are rated at 180HP but it feels like a 150hp sled to me. I also hate the throttle. The only thing keeping me on the sled is that I really like the way it rides. The PPS3 is the best skid I have ever ridden. I know...

Arctic Cat Catalyst: Is a Turbocharged Four-Stroke Engine Coming?

They need a turbo motor for their sxs too. Hopefully, whatever they come up with has at least 200 ponies.

    Sidewinder Ice Cobra?

Is the ice cobra a factory two ply version? I believe the version camso sells is single play. I have that track on a BRP sled and it was falling apart at 3,500 miles. I think I sidewinder setup like yours would destroy it even quicker. You already own all the parts so it may be worth trying...

    2027 Thundercats

It sucks they got rid of the mountain seat for 2027. That seat should be standard on all Procross sleds.

I think the RR was gone last year as well.

    New track offering, 1.3 Arrowhead

2,300 miles on my Ice Arrow. On groomed trails, it is excellent. On fresh snow and warm snow, it is not as good as the 1.6 Cobra. My 900R is also 3 mph slower with the Ice Arrow compared to the 1.6” Ice Cobra.

FS: For Sale, VX1R/Boomer's Lynx Snowmobile

Shari, Don absolutely had the best taste in snowmobiles. I thoroughly enjoyed all his builds through the years. I had questions about his Lynx after his first season, so I sent him a private message. He messaged me back with a phone number and told me to call him. After 15 minutes on the phone...

    comparing the 129-137-146

I am on year 3 of my 146. I love it for big trails like the NEK, Maine, and Quebec. Especially if we are backpacking. But for our central VT trails, I sure do miss my 129” Sidewinder! I am starting to feel like a 9000RR or LTX LE with EPS might be a great do all sled.

Did you guys see the new Cat Catalyst?

IMO, it will be an industry standard a few years from now. Doo needs it the most.

They are more durable than a standard track. Different compounds.

Another option is a takeoff track from a Polaris assault. I believe the boost models get the R rated track.

    comparing the 129-137-146

If I were ordering a new track for my 146, I would probably choose a 1.5 storm with studs, or the Rip 2 from Yamaha. I was faced with this decision last fall, when my 1.6 Ice Cobra was missing 10 lugs at 3,800 miles. I chose the Ice Arrowhead based on the rave reviews online. It hooks up hard on...

    New track offering, 1.3 Arrowhead

I was asking because he mentioned studding the Ice Arrowhead. We paid extra money for all the studs that come in it. If someone wanted to run traditional studs, a 1.35 Cobra or Storm would be a less expensive starting point. My Ice Arrowhead hooks up better on ice than my wife’s 137 1.35 Cobra...

Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of buying this track in the first place?

It is perfectly normal. Enjoy the sled! They are great machines.

I meant, if you were shopping for another new 998T, which would you choose now that you have ridden them all.
