Vec tach with a camera maybe lol. I've got the conversion box to run the tach with coil on plug but the instructions are very automotive based. I can figure it...just was hoping for a short cut. I'll have to post how I end up doing this lol. We definitely will look like A-holes when we show up...
I believe that is a 1500cc Predator. It's a VERY fast sled. The SRX is fast as well but neither one sees much competition as there's not many big bore or big turbo sleds racing on grass up here. A good running ProStock 1000 would likely give them both a good run. We were there (muskoka500 and...
Has anyone successfully installed an aftermarket tach on a nytro?? I've got an Autometer recording/replay tach that I would like to use on my son's grass sled. He is not a reliable source of information lol. The tach is damn near impossible to see especially at speed so this would make our...
The mono, aside from being a bit fragile, is an excellent skid....WAY nicer than the pro-action. I've had an 05,06, and now an 11. The 11 with the mega float seems to be the best combo. I did prefer the 05/06 because I had an adjustable Ohlins on both BUT I never got either shock valved/sprung...
When my 05 arm broke (in 06/07) I replaced it with the most current arm at the time which was slightly more beefy. I then reinforced the new arm as best as I could. I think the current arm now is MUCH better than what I could buy in 07 so could likely just leave it stock. The cable is very easy...
The RX1 motor was a PWC motor before it was in the sled....it was obviously based on the early R1 motor but it was the MR1 before it got to the sled.
The phazer 500 motor in the Blast chassis would be fantastic...but I think the big Y's commitment to the sled biz is waning.
I searched but don't see a vendor for donuts...other than ebay. I got my first set from Crewcheif (Sledtoyz) but I that website is gone I see.
Do I go to ebay or is there a Canadian selling this stuff still?
Thx
Like a Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix? (same chassis with a Yamaha motor)
Suzuki Sidekick/GMC Tracker
Ford Ranger/Mazda B2200
Subaru BRZ/Hyundai Genesis
MANY examples of car companies doing this. We used to sell Mercury 225hp 4-stroke outboards that came in a Yamaha crate. Exact motor painted...
I don't think vipers are in the same zip code as an Apex in terms of speed. I don't think that can be debated....slower chassis with way less power.
The PC chassis rides WAY better though...also not really debatable. Now, guys work on chain case improvements rather than rear skid and exhaust...
For that price range you'll get a nice used 1800 NA...pick a clean one that's not salty. You can't go wrong with any of them really...
For info GreenHulk.net is pretty good.
Strange they used the 850 Backcountry and not a TNT or whatever one has a normal track/gearing combo.
There's no question the 1" track is going to hurt the SRX down low but once you get rolling that thing is GONE...
You really need to work on getting a pipe ID that's closer to the factory OD. You're using good quality parts but it's so much work to make them barely fit it's leaves a bad taste given the cost of the kit. It's a ton of work to test to see if they leak and if they do the sled has to come apart...
Was the outer bearing race still in there or was everything gone? It looks like the circlip groove is worn right through at the front too. If you can get the circlip groove fixed up enough to hold the clip and the bearing still fits tightly into the bulkhead I'd run it and hope for the best...
Just had a similar situation on my 06. The bearing let go and the shaft pulled ahead eating up the outer race and slightly into the carrier but not enough to hurt anything. The carrier is actually part of the rear bulkhead which you probably want to avoid changing unless absolutely necessary...
