I have my mtx 162 in the bed of my 2005 dodge 1500 6' bed. it hangs out approx. 10" I put a horse stall mat from tractor supply in the back to keep from scratching up the spray in bed liner. I have had no problems with the gate bending.

ive got one of these, and to be honest they work ok if you have the room. it always seems that there is just not enough room for them to fit. i still use a small flatbalde screwdriver. just my .02
