I'm replacing my exhaust gasket on 2009 apex. I was told by a mechanic to put the side of the gasket with the solid band facing the engine. Question I have is does that gasket sit flush at the end of the silencer or leave out an inch or so to cover over the y pipe side?
Don't know if anyone will ever see his update but here it is. I've had awesome success with the excel wheel kits. Getting a seasons worth out of a set of slides and would be more if I didn't just change them in the fall for yearly maintenance. Never would have thought I'd see this...
Have had the sled since new in 2006. Just started last season having a hard time keeping it running when started cold. You have to keep feathering the throttle until warmed up and moving. After moving for a short while, it will run fine the rest of the ride. It's almost like it doesn't want...
I have a 2006 Vector and 2009 Apex. I've used many different replaceable bearings in the standard idler wheels over the years. I don't have a loyalty to any of them.
Is there anyone who really believes in one particular brand over another? I had the ones I used last year take a pretty good...
Wondering how yours worked with where they were mounted. I mounted them on wifes sled, on rails, but ends wore down in one day. We ride northern Wisconsin. I'm going to try something again on her sled - Vector and my own - Apex. Might try the slidekicks on mine. Opinions?

Stopped working this winter. I do have the aftermarket yamaheater installed on the grips for the last 3 years. Works awesome. Right side thumb warmer went out early this season. Any ideas?
Thanks,

I'm purchasing RSI ice scratchers and want to use the adaptor they sell for the suspension wheels instead of drilling. The sled and parts are about 4 hours from here. Can someone tell me the ID of the suspension wheels which is part #8ET-47310-00-00? It is either 20mm or 25mm. RSI sells the...
Tired of sticking slides on hard packed, perfectly groomed (cold) trails. Will they help? Have same problem with 2006 Vector. And yes, track is ridiculously loose.

I follow you 100%. What a great, clear description. I'm unfortunately 3 1/2 hours away from sled. Will look at it next weekend. Should've been smarter and done this in offseason.

I replaced the donuts just last year. I'm afraid it probably is the exhaust somehow. I will try the tennis ball test and probably just get thru the year before I tear it apart. That is as long as it doesn't get worse.

I definitely bought the correct shield per Yamaha catalogue. It came with the correct OEM part number on it also. I follow the slot idea. How did you find it held by widening the hole? Do you think if I returned this one for another, I'd get a better fit?
