    Exhaust gasket install

Clamps of course go over silencer/gasket. Maybe that is enough to keep things tight.

    Exhaust gasket install

This is with the pipes lined up. Should that gasket be out of the silencer and onto the y pipe? Front of sled is down of couse.

    Exhaust gasket install

I'm replacing my exhaust gasket on 2009 apex. I was told by a mechanic to put the side of the gasket with the solid band facing the engine. Question I have is does that gasket sit flush at the end of the silencer or leave out an inch or so to cover over the y pipe side?

Opinions on slide wear/overheating on 2009 Apex

Don't know if anyone will ever see his update but here it is. I've had awesome success with the excel wheel kits. Getting a seasons worth out of a set of slides and would be more if I didn't just change them in the fall for yearly maintenance. Never would have thought I'd see this...

    2006 Vector cold starting problems

I'll start by pulling carbs and looking at jets before getting any deeper and causing more problems than it is. Thanks for responding.

    2006 Vector cold starting problems

It acts the same during both during and after the choke process. Clears up after running for awhile.

    2006 Vector cold starting problems

Would there be any need to adjust the fuel screw setting? Really don't want to mess with it if its not necessary. Thanks, Smurf

    2006 Vector cold starting problems

If that was the case, wouldn't it continue to run rough? It does clear up relatively soon after warmed up. I will clean the pilots regardless. Smurf

    2006 Vector cold starting problems

Have had the sled since new in 2006. Just started last season having a hard time keeping it running when started cold. You have to keep feathering the throttle until warmed up and moving. After moving for a short while, it will run fine the rest of the ride. It's almost like it doesn't want...

    bearings - who's best?

I have a 2006 Vector and 2009 Apex. I've used many different replaceable bearings in the standard idler wheels over the years. I don't have a loyalty to any of them. Is there anyone who really believes in one particular brand over another? I had the ones I used last year take a pretty good...

Wondering how yours worked with where they were mounted. I mounted them on wifes sled, on rails, but ends wore down in one day. We ride northern Wisconsin. I'm going to try something again on her sled - Vector and my own - Apex. Might try the slidekicks on mine. Opinions? Smurf

2009 apex right thumb warmer doesn't work

Stopped working this winter. I do have the aftermarket yamaheater installed on the grips for the last 3 years. Works awesome. Right side thumb warmer went out early this season. Any ideas? Thanks, Smurf

Need suspension wheel ID for 2009 Apex

I'm purchasing RSI ice scratchers and want to use the adaptor they sell for the suspension wheels instead of drilling. The sled and parts are about 4 hours from here. Can someone tell me the ID of the suspension wheels which is part #8ET-47310-00-00? It is either 20mm or 25mm. RSI sells the...

Simple question - do ice scrappers work on 2009 APEX slides?

Where do you ride. I'm riding northern Wisconsin. Cold, packed trails kill me and wife.

Simple question - do ice scrappers work on 2009 APEX slides?

Tired of sticking slides on hard packed, perfectly groomed (cold) trails. Will they help? Have same problem with 2006 Vector. And yes, track is ridiculously loose. Smurf

    2009 Apex windshield fit

I follow you 100%. What a great, clear description. I'm unfortunately 3 1/2 hours away from sled. Will look at it next weekend. Should've been smarter and done this in offseason. Smurf

    Occasional backfire on 2009 Apex

I replaced the donuts just last year. I'm afraid it probably is the exhaust somehow. I will try the tennis ball test and probably just get thru the year before I tear it apart. That is as long as it doesn't get worse. Smurf

    2009 Apex windshield fit

I definitely bought the correct shield per Yamaha catalogue. It came with the correct OEM part number on it also. I follow the slot idea. How did you find it held by widening the hole? Do you think if I returned this one for another, I'd get a better fit? Smurf
