Stopped working this winter. I do have the aftermarket yamaheater installed on the grips for the last 3 years. Works awesome. Right side thumb warmer went out early this season. Any ideas?

Wiring broke, bad connection or a burnt out thumb warmer??

do you mean hand warmer I only ask as you stated right side as opposed to just thumb warmer. I had my right hand warmer go out and it was because it has a small crease in the warmer it self and friction got the better of it over time was just installed bad at the factoy. replaced with after market and was back in business.
The right side thumb warmer. Had wiring apart but couldn't find anything obvious. Not good with a ohm meter so will need so help.

Using an ohmmeter is very easy, just set your meter to measure ohms. Disconnect the component to be tested and connect one test lead to 1 of the 2 wires being tested and the other lead to the other wire. Alligator clips make this easier for those who haven't handled a meter a lot. You are basically measuring resistance to current flow. Depending upon the component you are testing a good reading varies.
- For continuity checks (checking circuit for no breaks) the reading should be low numbers or fractions. Please note that K Ohms is 1000 Ohms, etc.
- For testing heating elements, coils or plug caps the reading should be within a range. You will the manual for the specific range for a given component.
- For testing things that should be open (kill switch, etc.) it should read infinity (8 on its side).
