Hi all,
I replaced my drive axle as a preventative measure after 8,200 beaten miles on my 2005 RX1. After reassembling the chaincase reverse does not work. I read a thread about new installs and think I know what I did wrong. I didn't have the forks in the groove of the driven gear??? I put...
Hi all, Could not find anything on this one except for total failure of the gauge. I have an '05 RS Vector that on occassion will have a blank gauge pod on cold startup. After the sled warms up it will come back on and does not happen every day on cold startup. This past weekend it did it again...
problem resolved
The problem was flooding during rapid deacceleration. This was caused by the float being out of spec.and needed adjustment. Check the float heights - 16mm for mine with the carb inverted, main jet pointing to 2the o'clock. Works awesome now...too bad the snow melted Monday.

#3 not firing
I have the same problem with #3 not firing occasionally. I swapped coils and replaced the plug. Problem still remains with #3. Pulled the carbs for the 3rd time & cleaned. Could not find an issue. Any ideas?
I could only find posts regarding fouling plugs, which the conditions are a bit different. Here is the problem. I have an 05 RS Vector with 1,800 miles. The sled is always fully warmed up to operating temperature whenever it is started. When first taking off it wants to stall. It may hesitate or...
Re: rx1 y pipes
Yeah those protectors rattle. I cut mine off as advised by this forum. The part numbers are different because they are not the titanium ones from '05. They do connect to the rest of the original system. Buy the pipes used, put a WTB in the classifieds. There are allot of good...
speedo
You may need to remove the secondary to get at the sensor more easily. The sensor has (3) 12mm nuts that hold it to the outside of the drive shaft bearing mount. Remove these nuts and remove the sensor to get a look at the bearing. The bearing change is just like that on a 2 stroke. You...
pliers
Northerntool.com sells a set of 4 for $18. I bought a set and used the small one on something that was stuck real bad, which snapped the tip. I called them and they sent a whole set and did not want the old ones back. They have reviews on all there products, with the experience level of...
risers
The cable just allows for greater movement without strain. The WOT as I was told is controlled by the TPS, which is another issue. The cable is on order from Yamaha, which was less than an aftermarket...strange enough. I buy from Yamaha Sports Plaza in Oregon. They give a huge discounts...
riser issue
Definitely the TORS system kicking in. I just went through this mixed with other issues making it harder to resolve. I tested the theory with TORS by recreating the problem with the hard right turn. I found the cable was strained in that movement and the throttle gap went to...
pipes
I was told the 03-04 or 06 or newer will NOT work on the 2005, so can someone who actually made the change for the Y pipes shed some light on this matter? I need to know the if pipes definitely will or will not fit - Y pipes from 03 or 04 and the flex pipes and the rear section from the...
y pipe
I would normally weld it myself, except titanium requires a near 100% argon shield. Apparently this metal is welded in a bubble enclosure filled with argon gas. I would think few welding outfits would have that in their shop. Any leads on '03-'04 RX1 Y pipes?
