Having been a person who has disassembled a phazer bolt by bolt rivet by rivet and then built one back up again (engine was the only thing that stayed whole) it not that bad.
I have both of bulk heads and looking to get ride of them. PM me if you are interested.
To late it looks like.
Yea it was calibikerclub. He has a few others with header wrap, stainless steal cable zip ties, and head shield.
He does not have this stuff anymore I think (from searching his store). What I got was the best stuff he had at the time. The stuff he has listed now is cheaper and maybe thinner.
Its not on the muffler its on the pipe. I have a vintage bike so the pipe comes up right next to you knee. The after market pipe is bigger then stock and was touching plastic and causing it to melt so I put this stuff there. No melting so far and the shield is holding up. Its a old school MX...
There was some heat shield I bought on ebay few months ago at pretty good price. I used it on my dirt bike to keep my after market pipe from melting my plastics as the side panel sits right on it. So the the heat shield is sitting right on the pipe adhered to the plastic. It holding up really...
I still have the revers unit available. I was going to make a kit for it but never got around to it to making it.
I don't have a Phazer anymore to even get wire length needed.
It would be nice to get rid of it finally thou. Maybe this year I will get around to it. Make a kit easier sell and...
Energy Conserving oils usually have good amount of friction modifiers. In motorcycles this can cause clutch issues that are wet type and share engine and tans oil.
I am not sure about the Phazer and what is has that can be affected.
Most of energy conservation recommendations are to try and...
Since I never had this engine fully just only every nut, bolt, and rivet that is on the sled. Is there any bass bushing or brass components in the engine?
If the partials are big enough the screen will stop them before they get to the filter.
Mine just had a seal on the jack shaft side track side witch stop water, dirt extra from coming in and oil from going out. My stock bearing there is a full open but they might have changed them on later models to with a steal or plastic part cover on the chain case side that will allow oil to...
Where you getting the silicon residue? I have never seen it in any of my filters. Then again it hard to check it because of the nano fibers and wire messing making it hard to rip it apart if it in the media.
Unless you mean its on the oil bung and you used silicon to seal it?
Anyone know the actually know the operating temp for this engine? I don't think it get to hot where it requires a 40 either.
That is also why I said Amsoil is reviewing and changing it oil line up to fit a less everything fits all market. Like I also said don't think it was intended for sleds...
Putting it backward it still will work but if it has a plate on it with small holes or slots this allows wear partials from getting in the bearing witch could lock up leaving you stuck or create extreme wear.
I looked at my 07 bearing and its a stranded dual side open.
It may be sealed but...
When I did a complete restore on my 79 yz 250. I replaced the bearing in the gear case halves when I was looking for the bearings under its bearing number none of them matched. The size matched but not the style some had dual row bearings, one side partly sealed, both sides open, one side had...
That is possible the plug could be brass or the washer could be copper or brass, I don't remember on the Phazer. X2 on the filter should see if you have sludge build up in it as well or filter media break down.
I usually keep the last oil change oil on hand but not all about 1 pint some times the filter as well. If the engine is new or rebuilt I will keep the break in samples as well. I could them sampled each time but this is more of extra insurance.
There a few companies that do it that are known...
You could analyze the oil. A company I will not name causes people might be getting sick if hearing it for $32.20 with pre-paid postage or $22.45 no postage if PC $25.75/$17.95.
If you still have the oil and has not been contaminated by other oil new or old, other chemicals, dirt or water from...
Anyways sorry if I got in to it.
I gave my recommendations.
Yamalube is a great oil as is Mobile 1.
Even thou I am a Dealer I will not recommend products I don't think is best suited but I know Amsoil and never had trouble with it.
There has been a lot of controversy going on with the outboard world at Amsoil. This is mostly with TCW-3 oils, long and complicated story that seems to never end. In most owners manuals most people read it wrong and assume you have to run what they say.
Amsoil has no negative marks on the BBB...
synthetic oil is a very great cold weather choice as well as hot.
A certain oil I sell it Pour Point is °C -51 (°F -60) (ASTM D-97). Should give you excellent cold start oil pressure and immediate right away unless you get that cold. The oil will not run out while sitting unless its been a...
