Hey guys, im looking for some help. I have a 2012 XTX Nytro. Its been stalling when i come to a stop. It doesn't do it all the time but it seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Im not getting any codes but I've run a diagnostic and tried cycling the ISC valve. It seems to be working...
I've seen that pic but ive never had that apart so im really not sure what to look for. I see that in the pic that the ring is keyed. But will it be that obvious to notice once its apart?
Ive been having the same issue. Doesnt want to idle most of the time. Not always but 90% of the time. Did you check your timing before discovering this? What exactly am i looking for when i remove the reluctor ring?
Thanks for the reply. The upper is fine and not bent at all luckily. I snagged a rock at 5mph and the rest is history. This happened yesterday and finally the conditions are perfect here and im off work for 10 days and was really hoping to get out.
I recently bent my lower right side A arm on my 09 121" Nytro. I know a guy that has a set for sale but they are off of a 2010 XTX. Does anyone know if these will work? Are there any differences in the A arms? Thanks in advance. And yes the sub frame is bent as well..lol
Mine does it all the time. There is never a ton of smoke but enough that its noticable. I think it is probably just steam but mixed in with the smell of the engine and hot plastic.
X2 I agree 100%. Yamaha has always done their own thing. I cant see them using a chasis from a competitor. Just seems like laziness to me on their behalf for not coming up with something on their own. IMO. Got to admit it is kinda sexy looking.
I have had my skid out a couple times and it never seems to line up easily. I usually have to use a punch or screw driver to line up the holes. I usually get the front bolts started a few threads and leave them loose. Makes it easier to jockey the skid around to line up the rear holes. Once i...
I Like to use Fluid Film. You can get it at Chinese tire. (Canadian tire). Works very well and seems to hold up longer than other spray on lubes. I also like to grease the skid and inspect my clutches and belt after every ride or two. I normally give the whole sled a look over for loose parts...
Welding is definately the most reliable way to go. Just make sure you have all the coolant out of the cooler and clean the weld site very well or you wont get the proper penetration. You will see black smoke and get some popping if the weld site has any contamination. Welding was my first...
Its a big job to change out the exchanger. Skid has to come out and the motor to do it correctly. I hit a rock and ripped a hole in the bottom of mine. I ended up patching it up with some quick set permatex just to get me up and running. It worked very well. I ended up leaving the permatex and...
If you lay it over on the left side the oil will flow from the oil tank into the airbox. Makes a nice mess and leaves small pools of oil under your machine for weeks. Pools always stress me out and i end up tearing the skid plate off to make sure its not leaking from the filter or somewhere...
I have been using the Klim Arctic GTX boots for 3 seasons now and i have no complaints. The only time my feet get wet is when i dont wear a proper sock to wick the sweat off my feet.
When i bought my Nytro a couple years ago it came with a hauck kit. Being fairly new to snowmobiling i had no idea on how to install it so it just sat on the shelf in the garage I also figured it wouldnt make that much difference to my sled anyway. I found a sticky on here last week of how to...
