I do not even push the slide back at all. I put a flat screw driver between the slide and rail at the back end, bend it down (pulling it off of the rail)until the slide can be pushed through a window. Then reverse and it is off.
The 2011 apex has no room to add a Hyfax to the tunnel protectors. There is only about 1/8 inch between the track and the tunnel protectors on mine. The reason some folk are hitting muffler with studs is the the "C" clips holding the tunnel protectors down, flex and the track can then move up...

I put the Powermadd (hand guard plus Mirror) on my Vector, all you can see is a headlight at best. Put the Nitro hand guards and Yamaha mirrors on the wife's Apex and you can actually see the person behind you. This year I bought the Yamaha mirrors for mine.
