Yes running stock muffler but unfortunately I cant help you out as I am new to this used sidewinder, went from 3 previous Apex's to this Sidewinder to which I just purchased. Knew the Apex like the back of my hand, starting all over, a totally new learning experience
Good day everyone, just a quick question, with the Hurricane tune my gauge reads .4 psi boost at idle, is that normal or should it read 0? Thank you :)
After my tool I made failed at knocking the bearing out i had no choice but to go from the chaincase side. All I can say it was waaaaaay easier than I imagined, lol! I just removed the brake assembly, unhooked the reverse linkage and removed the chancase cover. I then went to the other side...
Not a dumb question at all Ken as the speedo/drive bearing has two set screws. To my knowledge there is only two circlips that hold the bearing in.....and yes I removed those, lol. Thanks for your help
Ok I finally got around to making a tool to remove the bearing from the clutch side, the tool fits good as i cut an old bearing in half , welded it to a piece of metal and positioned it behind the bearing to be pushed out. After hammering and jacking it the darn bearing won't even budge, can't...
Thank for the help and important info as I will use this if plan "A" fails, lol!! I am going to first try and make a tool that can pop the bearing out from the inside, either slide hammer or use the threads in the jackshaft to pull the bearing out from behind it.
Ya heating and cooling the right components will definitely make the install go smoother .....sure hope I can do all that from the clutch side though :)
I just wanted to let everyone that indends on greasing their jackshaft bearing to check the backside of the bearing to see if any grease is coming out on that side. When I took the seal off mine to grease it there was no grease, dryer then a popcorn fart! When I took a picture behind the bearing...
Thanks, cant wait to try them out, lol!! I prefer scratchers on the skis because it feeds snow/lube to the entire suspension for cooling and lubricates the whole length of the Hyfax also.
Ok, downloaded a resize app, lol! Anyway, here is my SPI coil spring scratcher ( exactly the same as the Skidoo scratchers) on ski set up. Made brackets that mount to the ski runner bolts. Put the scratcher resting position bracket forward instead of behind of the scratcher and works great. Also...
I am trying to load them from my Samsung phone and cant resize them. I have loaded photos to other sites and never had a problem, wonder why this site requires resizing,
Ok, took a video and couldnt share it, message said file too large, took a bunch of pictures and it still said file too large so unfortunately I cant share anything. Anyone know why I cant upload pictures on here?
Yes they worked pretty good. Unfortunately like all cable ice scratchers there is not enough down pressure for ice. I need scratchers mostly in the spring when it warms up, melts the snow a bit then freezes. I opted to replace those with the coil Skidoo scratchers just yesterday, made ski...
I would just loosen the one side until the track is centered as it is rare that both sides will have the exact same sag, the tracks seem to always be a bit longer on one side. eg might be 3/4" sag on one side then 5/8" on the other side, as long as it is centered you are good to go.
All my o'l Polaris's had greasable speedo bearing, never had a problem with these. I think both seals were always left in place, the grease inside the case was just to keep the moisture out.
