You keep bringing it up. Look up the stats for the Arctic Cat Z1, $13695 for a not just heavy, but front heavy problem laden sled.
You want to talk Ski-Doo? Go to Dootalk and look at the reliability issues with their revolutionary etec 2 strokes. Plus every 800 Ski-Doo built had been a...
No lesson in economics, just stating fact and Yamaha's reasoning.
Not one of our customers in the 6+ years I have been here have complained about needing more power. Buy a Super or Turbo Charger if you want more power. You are in a small percentage of 170hp wannabes. Yamaha delivered more...
The 170 plus HP catagory is such a limited market, that Yamaha would alienated a large percentage of riders that want a Premium trail sled that is affordable to operate and insure.
Look at the polls on here. look at the posts on here. 142 of 216 said they were not buying a sled of any...
I want 170 hp.
I want a lighter sled.
I want a new seat.
I want a longer track.
The price is too high
You want all this and you're complaining about the price now?? :drink:
His point was simple:
Some are complaining about price, which is a premium. But so is the sled.
It seems people want Corvette performance and handling at a chevette price. Not going to happen with ANY product. Buy what you can afford, but don't complain when you can't. I have a V-Star...
5% increase in hp puts it at approximately 160ish. You want more power yet You don't want to pay for it.
People said they wanted a lighter feeling sled, they got it. The Apex is not for the ditch banging crowd, the Nytro and the Phazer are.
Skis are cheap, that could be said of any...
One thing I know you will not see again in the near future, or maybe ever, is a total new line-up in one year. It is more cost effective to release a new or improved model each year, and it keeps the consumer content. How mad were people in the past when they bought the latest and greatest...
Everyone wants:
More technology
More horsepower
More traction
Better handling
New this
New that
Yet when a company delivers, it's not good enough, or too expensive. REALLY? Do these things come free or do you get money back if you add them? No. Yet people cry FOUL!
You say "not...
You will have to wait in this current economic state. Yamaha will not do a total revamp of their whole line again. You will see specific new model(s) each year instead. A much smarter and more feasable plan and it keeps interest peaked as well.
I do know Yamaha test riders have been riding Apex's with a normally aspirated engines pushing near 170hp.
Here is what I would like to see...
A new line, consisting of the rumoured 128" monoshock, and a 144" Nytro XTX suspended Apex. All with 1.5" binder traction. Lower cg's and less...
