Debating buying a high mileage Sidewinder

22000 km on the chassis won't be an issue unless it was abused. I know first hand. I have a 8000 with 24000 kms. It's still tight. I also had another 8000 with a lot less K that had a little bit of a tough life. I had to replace tunnel rivets, the chaincase cracked, the front tunnel mounts for...

Will a gauge off a newer sled work or does it need to be from a 2019. I'm going to assume it needs to be off a sled with iQS.

Final update. The guy with the donor box, also had a gauge. Guess what, it works. The gauge is my issue. I'm happy I know the issue, but I'm not overly impressed with the dealer. I'll call them tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who chimed in with tips.

Ok. I shared some incorrect info. The codes were false. I hadn't plugged the shocks back in after a previous test. So. With the shocks unplugged, no codes. With the shocks unplugged and hit the switch, I get the codes. With everything plugged in, I tried the donor box. No change. I think this...

A new one for your correct model year or one for a newer model year?

So a newer box regardless of part number will work. If so, I'll see what I can find for a used box.

The dealer said they tried a box but who knows. It makes sense given the codes it's a box issue. Funny nothing showed up until I unplugged the shocks. I did start the sled each time to test. With the shocks unplugged, I didn't hit the handlebar button. Last night the shocks were all plugged in...

    Lost iACT/iQS

I have another update. I unplugged the shocks to confirm if I get any codes from the shocks. No codes. jump ahead a couple days and a couple calls to dealers. The shocks won't give any codes unless the system tries to make an adjustment. So, tonight I fired up the sled and now I have some...

Stock tune as long as I've had it. Previous owner said it was stock from new.

They did not touch the ecu. I'm thinking it could be the ECU. I'm thinking about a PEFI stage 1 tune. I wonder if the tune would reflash my iQS back. Or can any dealer reflash the stock flash to correct the issue if it is the ecu.

The dealer claims they tried a used gsuge and a new gauge, new iQS module and a new handlebar control. The consensus after that is it has to be a wiring issue. I'm not finding any wiring issues. I'd like to swap the parts myself.

I'm in Ontario south of Barrie. I don't have access to another box. The dealer said they tried an new box but who know what they actually did.

When I unplug the module I get the no communication code. When I unplug any or all the shocks, no code. I get power to the module and the proper 60 ohms on the CAN lines and proper voltage. About 2.40 volts on low and about 2.54 on high CAN. That's back probing at the connector with it plugged...

Yes, tested with sled running. Nothing shows on the dash, nothing happens when I try and activate iQS with left hand control and no codes.

    Lost iACT/iQS

I don't have any codes. The iQS does not show on the gauge at all. If I unplug the module I get a code. If I unplug any or all of the shocks. No code.

Sounds like you have first hand experience troubleshooting the system. When your module failed, did it give a code? Also, have you done any CAN network testing to troubleshoot your previous iQS issues. If so, I'd like to compare notes. Thanks

Are you referring to the ECU or the iQS module when you say CDI.

I won't assume because it's the same part number it doesn't need a different program. Have you replaced a gauge with iQS.
