yes, it was a real surprise how easily it keeps going after a total stop in deep snow. Earlier I needed a shovel many times if I stopped it in the powder. It is true that on the trail 2" lug is not optimal. But for me that's not an issue because I drive mostly off trail.

If you have to do that even at low engine revs, something is wrong in the mechanics. This is just the way how to break the whole gearbox in the end - Says Yamaha Finland. Hmm..I have used exactly the same tricks for three years now, but only for cold engine and high revs, no need for the tricks...

I measured the diameter and it is still 27mm in 2011. I don't understand why the part number has been changed. Neither local Yamaha dealer knew answer for that. Maybe there is some other changes than the shaft diameter, material etc..?

I asked from two WB retailers here in Finland. At first, both said that the axle is 27mm as it is in that 2007 manual. But when I mentioned that the part number is not the same in 2007 & 2011, they were not so sure anymore. Maybe I wait until the weekend when I have possibility to measure it

yep, this has been in my mind too. Another point why I'm going to smaller drivers is that I want to make more space for preventing tunnel icing. Or maybe there would not be any difference with icing if I keep 9-tooth drivers still? (change to extrovert model anyway) So, which choice is...
