That's what I would do! And I wonder if there is some difference in trade between Canada and Japan compared to the US and Japan. I just never understand why you guys have to pay so much more for everything Yamaha.
Get out of here? Really? Who the hell would desing a sled like that? LOL...but still, thats heavy. I had a motor out of an RX1 in 2 hours and I was a green at it...guess it depends on where ya live. I know labor rates around the city/burbs dealers here are ridiculous...
Leno...if your dealer would charge you over $1000 to replace a starter then you need a new dealer....does that come with a jar of Vaseline?
MOTOR ASSY
8GC-81890-01-00 (replaces 8GC-81890-00-00) 1 $279.48
Over $700 for labor to replace a starter? WTF??? ....yeah ok....let me sign...
Rang Goodwin. he don't do much with 4 stroke Turbo or SC set ups. I did talk to Allen Ulmer yesterday. Sounds like he has set up more than a few of these MPI's and has a decent set up for them. May be meeting him in Milwaukee in a few weeks and just let him have the sled. I simply don't have the...
That was my question. Stock motor or shimmed? I think I am just going to drop the compression. I want to run 10 pounds safe at sea level on pump fuel. I don't want to mess with race fuel or swapping pullys. I want to be able to swap clutching and head west with it. What head shim do I need...
Is the "base octane" number the number your putting in at the pump? If so, what changes the number form what you put in "base octane" column to a different number in the "octane" column if you have 0 for elevation and boost? Just trying to understand how it is calculated and why it would change...
Just bought a Supercharged MTX 162" and I wanted to do a little reading on fuel. I knew I would find a million different results/opinions. I live where I have 100LL easily accessible at under 5 bucks and wanted to see if I can use this fuel for the sled. The sled is set up for high elevation...
I have a set of Poo wheels from my old RX-1 and they are like new. Thinking of throwing them on the 11 Apex I picked up. Same bearing as stock, but seems like the nut is flush on the bolt when tight and hardly grabbing the nylon. Anyone else notice this or have a problem losing them? Seemed like...
Hey guys,
Not here to hijack the thread. Just to make sure guys do their homework before they decide weather to go HID or Halogen. And if they go HID what NOT to get. First off don't run the high watt bulbs. Not a good idea. They will run way hotter in temp and over time the 3 prong plugs...
What I do is drain the tank and the motor cold, let them sit open for a while until they are bone empty. Leave the filter on during this time. It will drain out most of the oil in the filter too. One rag will do when you pull the filter if you do this. (at least id does on mine)
If you start it...
Hard to tell but is sounds to me like it's missing across the board. How many miles?
If you have new plugs in it, I would throw a compression test at it to rule that out. Check the connections at the coils and the injectors too! I know there watertight, but I would look in those connectors...
snowman, have not even had the seat off this sled yet but isn't that stud part of the tunnel? Do you have a picture of your set up? not sure I get what you mean???
Thanks ;)!
I have been chatting with the previous owner of this 2011 I picked up. He already shimmed the C brackets so I went out to take a peek. There is one nick dead center on the lip of the muffler but that's it. So it's close. He thinks they are 1.375 studs. If you look at the picture this method will...
