Thanks for the replies and comments!! sounds like s/c may be best for all round use? adjustable by swapping pullies, Much time involved? (how buried is it) what can you get away with on 91 octane, 8-9 lbs? what kind of pwer does that translate to?
Buddy of mine (getting off a machz 1000) is considering buying an Apex and turbo/supercharging it.He tried the turbo cat and it was a slug .Rumors of a 190 hp turbo doo have surfaced (at the dealer) and has his interest but an apex appeals to him too...he rides 3-4000 miles a year but wants to...
I got a chance to drive an Apex gt on the weekend for the first time (new yamaha demo) i too was impressed with the sled all round .I'm currently on a well clutched 02 srx the gt was an instant good fit for me ,i felt imediately i could run that sled hard through a trail ...it just felt natural...
Must say i like the grizzly way better but anyway,i just picked up this bike from a retired gent who barely used it (178 miles on the tripometer) he said he has never reset it! the thing truley is in showroom condition. This is an irs model and i have a leaking axle seal .I was wondering if...
Thanks for your reply .MY dealer is like talking to a child (i seem to better informed than them)...lol .Called Yamaha motor Canada ,most grizzlies are made in Japan and is indicated by the first digit on the VIN "J" "5" if in the US which are where most kodiaks are made ....
New here but not to TY!....Question for ya's where are grizzly's (06 660) and Kodiaks made ? read some where that they are made in georgia ?? is that true ...Just wondering because i got nailed for Duty$$$ at the border buying them in the states and bringing into canada. That applies if made in...
Stopping at US customs was not neccesary,They do a 72 hour check for liens and stolen. However if you bought a sled down there and it was stolen or had a lien on it and went back there riding and they ran a check ,you would lose your sled! so it's a good practice if you intend to go back and forth
congrats on your grass dragging this year.....question for ya....Does the ISR class the sleds now(in dragging ) by power/weight? When i used to drag(exciter days) i'm pretty sure they did....just wondering
it is fanatastic much like totallyamaha! it's great that he posts his personal opinions and not corp.b.s. and i have found the many people of this site to be excellent as well!!!!!!! keep up the good work! :yam:
thanks for the replies,i suspected he should have ran away from me.although he doesn't really care,i'm going to suggest we play with his clutching.really hate to see a yamaha not running to it's full potential!on top end he was gone but through the mid he fell back
how well are they are supposed to pull from lower mid?i have a 97 sx700 and pulled my buddies(03 rx-1) hard 5-7 lengths from 30 mph-til i let off at about 80,my sled works about how it should .i would not call it exceptional.i have no studs(a 1'' lug track) he has 96 stock track.this is not...
i am not an rx1 owner however, from what i have read on this site (oil consumtion) you need to use ring free or another similar type ,i doubt your riding style has anything to do with it.
yes it was the 10 amp fuse! he is going to check the tan wire (and the other for the 30 amp issue) thanks for the info guys much appreciated! ;)! ;)! ;)! ;)!
